"Shows just how little support they get and how much opposition they get."
No it shows how many content creators blindly follow the prescribed path... basically they tell the artists "This bill is to help support artists" and they fire off their 3 letters to congress... THEN go back and read what they did. All of these people wanting to "unsign" are the problem with the industry. Without these sheep, the MAFIAA would be powerless.
"A secondhand dealer shall not enter into any cash transactions in payment for the purchase of junk or used or secondhand property. "
Reading comprehension.
"I mean really who knows and/or writes down the serial number for everything the own?"
I think what he was implying would be that the database of numbers would be populated by the manufacturer, and then at first sale create paper trail from then on... actually writing it out like that makes it seem far worse than this law.
Thats great that Bethesda doesn't want them to use scrolls at all but it still is up to the USPTO. And it appears from the ruling that renaming it to "The Old Scrolls" would comply according to their ruling.
especially if they numbers the MPAA reported for earnings use MAFIAA Math...
"They also have the money to develop the kind of content delivery service that would make Apple wet its pants"
Simply Not true...
MPAA revenue around 10 billion, Google Revenue around 9 billion, Apple Revenue 7.31 billion... and earlier this year it says Apple Money Vault topped $338 billion, more than Exxon Mobil, and the took the spot for most valueable company in America... I dont think apple is going to be tail-tucking to the MPAA anytime soon...
Did you really just propose a tax on email?
Someone should come slap you with a large trout.
Knox was found GUILTY of Defamation,
This is how it played out in my imagination:
the reporters heard the judge say "The Defendant is found GUILTY".. Now to the word "guilty" is like a track race's starting gun, at this point all of the reporters turned and ran out of the courtroom to print their articles, now back to the story, "of Defamation, on the second count of Murder in the first degree the defendant is found NOT GUILTY"
Dammit i lost the game too. Second time this week :-
What would also be interesting to know is how this applies to PC's or laptops with external mice. As body slamming a suspect the the ground is likely to vibrate the mouse enough to wake up a PC, but a solid state touch pad wouldn't..
The only problem I have with the studio, is that they are members of the MPAA. And as such they are contractually bound not to offer anything useful to their consumers. Ever.
The Internet was Invented to D) Look at Naked Pictures
Cyberlockers will D) Let you share naked pictures with a group of friends
Legislating "cyberlockers" will D)Cause "Cyberlockers" to buy Server space and domains outside the US and continue as normal.
Depends how long the movie industry can keep shelling out piles of cash to congressmen.
Unfortunately they pay congress 1 billion, and congress turns around and passes some bill that gives them 10 billion. Hollywood then wastes 9 billion, and spends the 1 billion left on congress again. Cycle repeats.
Their "Thinking" if you can call it that, was family movie nights, or slumber parties where it would be cheaper for 4-6 people to rent one of these $30 movies than pay for individual seats at a theater.
Their problem is after forcing their customers to wait 28 days for movies on netflix and redbox, they have made them complacent to wait the extra 30 days (when the normal pay per view price is offered). Once again, they screwed themselves.
"Could you be charged for hindering an investigation by not providing the pattern?"
IANAL far from it actually, but I think your right to remain silent, and your 5th amendment right not to self-incriminate should protect you on this matter
The Problem is it's not a cardboard "File box in the next seat" it is a 400 pound Sentry Safe that's locked in your passenger seat. And even the officers on COPS would need a warrant before calling in the safe cracker.
If the protesters simply moved to the areas the police wanted them to be in, they would have ended up on the other side of the Hudson.
Someone Pay this man, He knows how to market stuff properly.
