Because this is more like Google Docs offering you storage space to save and access your files online, only it's music and not text.
They're not trying to scan the entire history of music and make every song searchable, like with the book thing.
"I'm kind of wondering if that statement was made just to make a "we're legal!" statement, without recognizing that such a situation doesn't seem to make much sense. "
I think Google understands completely that the situation doesn't make much sense. Unless we're all missing something where they'll have to reveal all the songs in a persons locker at every simple request or something. I'd bet Google made that statement for the idiot lawyers foaming at the mouth looking for a way to take this service down... maybe calm them down a bit because there's a way to police it, and then keep them busy by trying to actually find out how that way to police it works (it wouldn't, but could take a while for Lawyers to figure that out haha).
Yeah, interesting for the 7 or 8 people still sticking with Windows Phone whatever when version 8 comes out....
I had to mark it as funny...it made me laugh out loud. But I also had to hit report.
That it's ok for them to break the law... They're saying that when the FBI does it, it isn't against the law...
Didn't work for Nixon, shouldn't work for these clowns.
It's "The U.S. GOVERNMENT."
As a citizen, I personally LOVE the fact that New Zealand's government has respect for free speech, and I think there's no such thing as too much of it.
Not to go off topic, but "(when does it make sense to turn your food into a car fuel?)"
How about when that 'food' is getting thrown away, and the producers of that food are being paid to throw it away, instead of put it to use? That's what some of the subsidies for our farming industry do essentially, pay the farmers to throw it out. Sure, maybe sending it to a third world country to feed starving children would be the best option for it, but I'd say turning it into a car fuel is still far far better than absolutely wasting it.
"You're living your life under the assumption you're not being filmed or photographed"
Then that is YOUR mistake. Big brother is watching, whether you're paranoid or not. Traffic camera's could catch your face at any moment. Any building's security camera's could do the same. If you assume you're not being photographed in public, then you're an ass.
If your trash is fair game to the public as soon as you put it out on the curb, then the minute you step out on the curb yourself, you shouldn't expect any level of privacy.
This is exactly the type of valuable information that all those people are trying to say DOESN'T want to be free. This is the type of thing the people should WANT to pay for, because it's such good news...right? Maybe they're only taking down the wall for the big stories about bad news, because no one would pay to be depressed...but maybe to read something good!!
Yo Dawg!! I heard you like queues, so I made a queue for your queue so you can wait to wait!!!
Considering all of the rights you'll be able to strip away from airline customers with that position, I'd say it's only right that you get violated before they let you violate everyone else.
She may be exaggerating, but that doesn't mean it isn't a problem. So go try to minimize the impact of something else.
If I have mirrors on both sides of me, does that mean I'm the predator???
"the US keeps complaining that Canada isn't ratcheting up its copyright laws fast enough"
It makes me embarrassed and ashamed to be a U.S. citizen. Would you please consider carefully separating the U.S. Government from the U.S. people in your posts? As it is the Corporatist regime (not Republican or Democrat) in power here that wants this truly anti-American movement to take place, and not any of the real U.S. citizens who actually understand what a crime it would be.
The best thing to happen to perverts since the Catholic Church!!!!
You think the politicians EVER really bothered to learn the true definitions?? With all that lobbyist money being waved in their faces???
About the phone calls or demands that you get as well!! I can't wait to see those posts.
My guess is that because lawyers didn't have success in getting negative comments about them removed from online forums, they are spreading the myth that you need to ask permission first, so they can deny permission to anyone intending to say something negative about them.
I've got it written down on a note card that I refuse to lose!!
I friggin hate lawsuits that aren't tight enough...
Re: Re: Re: Re: I think Google knows
You heard about the domain seizures by ICE right?? Surely you understand that was done at the request of the MAFIAA's, because they suspected some type of infringement...
That's how they'd do it, pay the right people enough money. It's not right, but it's happening. We can only hope Google slaps them back down to reality when they try it.
