These people broke the law, and I think it sends a bad message by giving the fines back due to a technicality. We should be teaching our kids to obey the speed limits (not see how fast they can go without getting a ticket), and when the law is broken, show them that there are consequences.
Shame on Redflex for not obtaining FCC approval of their devices until 2008. Still, I hope this doesn't tarnish the entire positive impact that other companies have had on driving habits through the use of speed and red light cameras.
