Done! Bova covered the subject from top to bottom.
While giving us the story on Ebooks he also took
the publishing industry to task. The Robber Barron's
of Wall Street learned their trade from "Publishing".
If you plan to publish, please go independent. The
Ebook publishers also learned from the traditional
book publishers.
While we are all feeling safe and comfortable knowing that
the Touch Some @ss folks are taking care of our security
maybe we could take time to read "Six Days of the Condor"?
Or for those who have been severely undereducated there is
the movie "Three Days of the Condor".
Life imitating fiction? You bet. Seems like D.C has hired
our best Speculative Fiction writers to protect us from something that isn't.
Now the Colonel shall go ride his bike while not wearing a
helmet.
Word of mouth has always been considered the best kind
of advertising. If we know of a product or service that
is above average we spread the word. Likewise if we are
unhappy about a product or service we are sure to tell the
family, friends and coworkers.
Isn't Yelp just a bigger and louder "word of mouth"?
The power of the corporate world will be used to to stop all activities
that are less than laudatory for those corporations. When your media
outlet gets it's revenue from corporations you will not print anything
that is negative about one of those corporations.
When the Michael Moore's of this world can shoot a no budget, quick
and dirty documentary film that raises fear in the hearts of the public
and in the hearts of the corporations you know that such work will be
stopped.
The bloggers changed a lot of how elections would be run in 2008.
That change was a call to arms for the people who always controlled
our elections. So enter the lawyers and disrupter's to stop this
silly nonsense that is only trying to get to the truth.
Maybe the Colonel could suggest a guild or even a union for people
who film, write, blog, or just report what they see? Or you can
just hire a lobbyist?
April 10th I attended my first Linux conference, met some
folks I have only known virtually for years. That was great.
I can see the reason for international and even national
conferences, in larger countries, being held virtually but
at the state level we need to meet and greet in person.

Business Models
The old Colonel here just patented "Sue Their Asses Off"
as a business model.
Any business that wants to sue another business now has
to deal with the Colonel.
Epic win.

When did word of mouth become illegal?
Information
Someone said: "The problem is not too much information,
it is inadequate filters."
Lawyers on a roof
Do you think I could get a patent on:
Lawsuit as a business model?
Brazil To Legalize File Sharing
@LeBazz I agree with whatever you said.
We all know music downloading is the most important
thing right now,or not.
It seems that Brazil is doing things in new ways in almost every endeavor. It just may be that Brazil is the future?
Security
No matter how paranoid or conspiracy minded you are,
what your government is actually doing is worse than
you can ever imagine.

DON'T PANIK
Debate
Just state your case, true or not.
Wash, rinse, repeat.
If that does not work, just state your case LOUDER
and more often.
Wash, rinse, repeat.

Walking backwards into the future?
Oh noes, the future will kill the past!
Electronic Civil Disobedience
Forget the laws, broken or not. Do not worry about intent.
Please focus on this one fact: The Hippies have won!
One small action at a time. The gathering of people to express
their views, without violence, is a right of every citizen.
It is a Community thing.
My Internet, Their Rules
When it comes to the Internet, the opposite of "open" is "theirs."

Problem with the internet
The only problem is that I do not own it. /°_°
Preserve The Problem
"Institutions will try to preserve the problem to which they are the solution."
Never in a million years would I have thought of this.
The truth of this is overwhelming.
The medical/pharma industry vs cancer.
Education cartel vs learning.
Legal vs justice.

Mike Masnick, Thanks a lot for pointing out that
through the use of the internets everyone has a voice.
Now they will come for our internets.
