    The legal system moves really slowly to do that, and repeatedly tends to defer to lawyers. It took Steele et all, how many years of active fraud upon the courts? S Powell might be gambling that if Trump can get in in 2024 the bar will be forced to look the other way (in the same fashion that Giuliani isn't facing disbarement).

    Awwww yeah.

    On the other hand; it took how many repeated lies to get here? An untruthful legal practitioner ruins the reputation of the entire career field. Their own bar associations need to be more on the ball with that. Caught lying or suborning perjury once should be a severe; suspending from practice for a year+ in all states seems appropriate. Caught lying in two separate occasions should be disbarred for life. This definitely needs to include DA's/ADA's.

    When did "hate speech" become "conservative speech" ? And why aren't more people explicit about this. They're not getting banned/comments deleted for conservative viewpoints. They're getting banned/comments deleted for inciting violence, for hateful comments against protected minorities and/or for spreading known misinformation. Don't hide behind "conservative speech" - own your fucking disgustingness. They're getting banned for "deplorable speech".

    Trump's trying to use out of control Covid to not only get Mexico, but also Canada to build a wall. I know up north, we don't want American's crossing in right now, and no one I know wants the border re-opened (well, opened more than it is).

    Ugh, it feels wrong to be cheering for google and facebook. But they (and any other's that would be caught up in this) should coordinate, and choose a day and have their proposed changes live for that day, with links to the people in Aus. about why what's happening is happening. Similar to the going black www protest against sopa in the us.

    People can see what their new normal would be, and they could right to their legislatures and either say, "Yes, more of this!" or "Hey, WTF?"

    The same for any other country that attempts legislation forcing cash gifts to legacy companies.

Well, between your option listed, and that of society switching to distancing, face masks when indoors excepting home/family becoming the new social norm, I know that I'd rather choose the latter. Heck, after 10+ years of this, even the anti-maskers would adapt, and start fighting if it's later revealed that covid's no longer an issue and we don't need to be quite so stringent. Yes, a third option of vaccines with no/little side effects and long lasting immunity (or regular vaccine schedule) would be great. But we don't know we're getting that as an option. In the meantime, living the present as the future one wants, means accepting the current status. Masks are the new normal. Indoor crowding is to be avoided, and even outdoor crowding can't be too close up. All parties are Covid Parties, whether their in a college dorm or a family get together that's happened every year for over 50 years running.

    I thought the whole point of qualified immunity immunity is that officers/gov employees can only know something is unconstitutional if there's already been a case that has found it so (regardless of the liklihood of the employee being aware of the case). If employees could somehow not know it's unconstitutional to break into someone's home on a no-knock warrant, and shoot an unarmed woman sitting in her home eating ice cream, I'd find it equally valid to think a similar person could not know it's unconstitutional to strip search minors.

    Which is to say yes, QI needs to go. But until it goes I won't be surprised (just outraged) when this is reversed.

    Also, WTF is up with the social worker thinking all kids under 4 needed to be strip searched as a routine part of her work... are there not people now going through her entire career history?
