"If you have employer provided coverage, no change."
Yep, and it was just coincidental that my share of the insurance payment doubled right after that law when into affect. And it's just coincidental that my manager's tripled.
I think the only one your missing is "sue Google just because". Unless he already did that and I missed it. With so much going on, it's easy to miss a chapter or two in this story.
I gave you the algorithm, it's in my last comment. Not that complex, but to derive meaning from one sentence, it's enough.
That same algorithm is suggesting that you may be one of those trolls that post nonsense in an attempt to discredit Techdirt. That output is a little more complex and requires a bit more input.
I worked in tech support for seven years and I've been paying attention to how people talk for a lot longer. I'm vary good at translating what people say into what they mean.
So, reading what Aerilus said leads to two possible conclusions. Ether Aerilus had such poor reading comprehension that typing would be difficult, or he understood the basics of what the article was about.
The best fit is the easiest answer, he understood just wasn't as articulate as needed.
Understandable mix up considering who else posts here.
No, Aerilus is commenting on what Andrew Rasiej said. Andrew wanted his name removed and intentionally picked a women to replace him. He also encourages all the other men on the list to also replace their names with women and strongly disagrees with someone who suggested it should be based on merit not gender.
Andrew seems to be suggesting that reverse prejudice is better then both regular prejudice and equality.
I'm with Mike, it should be based on merit not race or gender. I'd say that if there is a serious question of prejudice (and there seems to be), the methodology of the Digital Power Index should be checked.
That's how a lot of spam got threw our spam filter at work. Someone would send an E-Mail with a bad address and a spoofed header and it would get bounced to our servers that would then send it to our in boxes. This bypassed the spam filter because it thought we sent the initial E-Mail.
Would that count? The original E-Mail was "intended" for another person (real or not, the TO: wasn't me) and ended up in my in box.
It's a bit clumsy, but it works. I was thinking more of actafacts sounds more like artifacts, which would be vary descriptive of those writing it.
Actually, since Google doesn't just count if you clicked on it, but if you keep going in the clicked on page, we would have to actually surf Techdirt for that to work.
So, next time you want to reach Techdirt while simultaneously pissing off the Copyright Alliance, search for them and click on the Techdirt link.
"...the words contained in these files..."
That doesn't mean he ripped them from DVDs, that just means he listened to the audio and typed out what they were saying. They're saying he copied the words, not the files.
To them adults are just moronic freeloaders exclusively concerned with self gratification. By extension, I guess that means they think children have the brain power of lemmings. What they don't know is lemmings are smarter then they think and so is everyone else. I guess that means they have the brain power of the proverbial lemming.
I would argue against what you're suggesting here. My aunt punishes with time outs and would never raise her hand to her children. Those kids are the most well behaved I have ever seen. My uncle is the same with his kids, and they don't have problems. My sister is the same with her son, and while he's still a brat, he's relatively well behaved.
I thought this comment was just one of those "in my day" kind of things. Now that I watch this video, it's not. This was bad. The worst bullies would never have gone this far at my school.
The kids aren't even good at insulting. Swearing left and right and repeating the same poor insult over and over again. These kids give a bad name to bullies.
This stepped well over the line of bullying into harassment and should be treated as such (by the police, not a flash mob).
The Red Green show is on youtube? Subscribed.
I watched that show every single night in college.
You make a good point in your first paragraph (your second is just gibberish). An active company should be able to protect their patents if it's been properly tested and found new, useful and non-obvious.
However, that does not apply to this case. The patent is neither new or non-obvious. I thought of the idea of something like DropBox or Google Drive many, many years ago. And if I thought it up, many other people did as well; I'm not that smart.
"Not like you can take MIB 3 on tour."
No, but you could offer high quality Blu-Rays at a reasonable price that don't threaten the people that pay every time they want to play it (preferably not six months after everyone forgot it was in theaters). You could also offer digital downloads for a reasonable price and in a format that people can actually use that doesn't threaten to kill their devices.
Or the big one, you could just realize that movies make a shit load of money despite piracy (or possibly because of it).
Funny you would be opposed to taking money (that didn't exist in the first place) yet support the RIAA in their attempt to take rights (that do exist) away from citizens. Not only that, but you seem to be suggesting that you want to take my money away from me and give directly to them just because I use a file locker for things completely unrelated to music (well, RIAA music).
I've had T-Mobile's "unlimited" plan for about three years now. It's not unlimited, they send you nasty messages if you use over 7G.
I'm with you on this Mike. I know several people who use the term "google" to mean "search with Yahoo".
I started thinking Google should probably lose it's trademark on the term when I started noticing TV shows use the term "google" even when they use a made up search engine.
However, they should keep their trademark on their colorful logo. That is distinctly Google.
Honestly, I think The eejit's use of the term "fart" is far more important then "piracy".
Idiot
Yes, because content control and time management are two things we absolutely do not want parents to have.
