    It originally was a children's program. The original idea was for the Doctor and his companions to explore history and possible futures to educate. The first few episodes didn't do so well so they added the Daleks and changed the show to more of a SciFi fantasy style show. The show exploded in the ratings.

    Anyone else find it ironic (and I'm fairly sure I'm using the correct definition) that this AC is bitching about a grammar error and then using "WTF" and "LOL"? Granted, I'm assuming he/she's bitching about a grammar error, I'm dyslexic so it's hard to tell some times.

    See, again you're talking without understanding. The theory of gravity is a hell of a lot more complex then apples falling from trees. It involves things like how we're pulled to the ground, why light bends around gravity wells, and time bends as well. It's far, far more complicated then when Newton started it.

    Remember, a scientific theory is as close to fact as science can get without being able to reproduce it on demand. We have the math, we have the evidence, we just can't show in a lab that time slows down in a gravity well.

    Same with evolution, the math is there, the evidence is there, we just can't repeat it in a lab.

    You're trying to take an easy to understand concept (things fall) and apply it to everything. But everything is far too complicated. You're looking for a simple, universal answer.

    And that's where I tried to turn this conversation back on topic by pointing out that what is going on with copyright is the same way of thinking. Trying to take a simple, easy to understand concept and apply it to something far, far more complicated. It ain't going to work. (wasn't saying anything about you and copyright, just trying to turn back on track)

    This is why I don't believe anything that people like you spout. Just like Out of the Blue, you don't know what you're talking about before your mouth opens.

    Gravity has not been observed. What you're thinking about is where apples fall from trees. The theory of gravity is a hell of a lot more complex (it's about space and time bending). Apples falling from trees is just a vary small part of the theory of gravity. But that's where most arguments fall apart. You want a simple answer where none can exist.

    It's the same exact problem with copyright. Copyright seems to be a simple answer, the owner owns all of it. But the world is not simple enough for a simple answer. To fit with the real world we must have fair use and limited time frames. Even then we end up with infringement and abuses.

    Simple answers are great, but only for simple problems.

    This all sounds like security threw obscurity. Don't tell anyone about our security so no one can find any holes in it. The problem is if no one is allowed to find the holes, then no one knows when the holes are found and abused.

    I'm sorry, did I piss off the UK Foreign Secretary by speculating that the security has flaws?

    1) It feels a little odd that a trademark can be removed for the exclusive reason that someone doesn't like the words.

    2) Meanings change, just like a previous article about the word 'tweet' becoming generic. I may be in the minority, but when I hear 'Redskins' I think 'football' not 'inaccurate derogatory word for those who moved here before everyone else'.

    That's what they're talking about, encrypting traffic over those channels. If you can't trust the channel's encryption (IPV6 is not encryption) then encrypt the data going over the channel.

    Doesn't matter if useful or not, if someone fills up my tank without my permission, I qualify it as a free gift and move on. I don't know about today, but not long ago the law would have agreed with me.

    I haven't had a colonoscopy, but a friend of mine did. From what he said, "unpleasant" is an understatement. It takes a long time for your system to get back in order, and there's a reason why they sedate.

    You're really insistent on pushing that this isn't news. And taken as it is, maybe this isn't really amazing news (it is still news). However, if you take it with previous articles, you can see how this is just a continuation of other stories. No, not that Google got hacked, not the NSA tracking your ass. It's the general technophobia that seems to be persistent throughout humanity. This funny little story just shows that the technology we fear is just a tool, nothing more. We are the ones that use it for bad or good.

    I don't think AC meant shooting with any form of accuracy, I think he meant shooting people. The vast majority of people would not be able to discharge a firearm (intentionally) in the direction of another human. That takes training or a mental disorder.

    Back when I was in high school, two kids got expelled for having a gun on school grounds. They weren't the violent type, both cases were just accidents. The first one just left his hunting rifle in his car after the first day of hunting season. I don't remember the exact story of the second kid, but I think his uncle borrowed his coat.

    Now, that was over a decade ago, guns must be far more common in schools. I mean, that's the only reason I can think of to necessitate swat team like active shooter drills for children. Shouldn't these people be worried about someone shooting back, or even worse, joining them?

    The preceding was only partially sarcastic. I'm a relatively intelligent adult, not a teenager going threw a rebellious phase. God only knows how I would react during one of these drills, let alone after one of these drills, if I was a kid. PTSD is a bitch.

    I may be mistaken, and it would seem I probably am, but I thought this concept was illegal. I thought there were laws against overly punishing one person to make them an example to others. Doesn't that fall under cruel and unusual punishment?

    How important could someones diary from WWII Germany be? The problem with history is that we don't know what's important until it's passed. So the archive team grabs all the public data it can so that history can decide what's important and what isn't.

    I know vary little about Breaking Bad, but from what I've seen I'm fairly sure I wouldn't like it. There is no way I would pay to watch it the first time. That includes paying by watching commercials.

    I'd give it a try if it was free, maybe, but otherwise I'll just go watch something else.

    They aren't the number one search result when searching for the game. And the guy who is now doesn't have any game play at all so there is no way they could get away with a claim.

    I've just started watching TotalBiscuit, can you point me to one of his videos where he's a potty mouth and plays to his viewers? I've only watched about half a dozen and so far he seems vary level and fair. And I don't think I've heard him swear once.

    Hmm... I actually used ISOHunt a long time ago. Don't remember ever seeing a price associated with any .torrent file on the site.
