  The other BIG issue with LTE or any wireless data is RELIABILITY. I would not want to try to run a home office using LTE until I know that the carriers can guarantee me the 5x9 reliable uptime for data transmission that I get with voice service.

  That's a nice thought, except that in the rural areas where they are really pushing customers off DSL, there usually isn't competition beyond the big 2, especially when it comes to wireless data. And in some places, there is NO wireless data available at all, so wireline is the only option, unlass they go to satellite data, which is insanely expensive.

  This is already part of the E-911 mandate from the FCC. Carriers route as much of your location information as they can ascertain to the 911 center.

  as Varagrix noted, wireless carriers have had location for 911 for a while (the origial FCC deadline for meeting accuracy requirements was October 2004, but it kept getting extended), but that information already goes directly to the 911 call center.
  
  The information that this article referred to is location derived from cell tower data, which is usually less accurate, but can still be useful (if you can see which towers a phone call used, you can get a pretty good idea of the course the phone traveled).

  The the location information they are requesting from the carrier would be far more reliable than an IP address. Carriers location data is required by law to be accurate to within certain parameters by the FCC for 911 purposes.
  
  Also, this is cell tower data, which you can bet your ass is accurate. the only way it wouldn't be is if the carrier manipulated it, which would be easily apparent.

  The other problem with this is that ethics are a personal choice. My ethics and your ethics are not going to be the same. Even societal ethics will vary based on geography. Your example of Adultery for example.
  
  Laws are to be created for the benefit of societal order.
  Murder is outlawed because society, as a whole, agrees that it is unethical. This is the case with most laws. And since society, as a group, is in agreement with the laws, they are generally effective.
  
  The problem that the copyright dependent industries have is that they are essentially trying to completely outlaw sharing, and that is a losing battle. We are all taught to share from a very young age, and they want us to stop doing that. Just like Prohibition was a spectacular failure and only proved to make criminal enterprises more profitable and powerful, outlawing sharing is not ever going to be effective.
