Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Really...

except 2 little points you seemed to have missed
    1) You can not just replicate the community, it has to be built and while you may be able to eventually do that, its a way down the road, so you will have to invest too.
    2) You will still have developement cost, and if your just scrapping stories, then you open your self to being hurt by it (like if Mike posts that all the stuff on Moore850wasteso2.com suxs and the mod is a left wing lunitic that doesnt believe people have a voice with out his ok..) now your fledgling community is going huh? and your left holding the bag

Another point to be made, you said if some one takes Mikes stuff and charges for it... Well unless you have something super (and i mean mind-blowing) to offer, why would anyone pay for whats free, that gets proven more and more, if 1 and 2 are the same (or in this case 1 is a copy) and 1 charges, and 2 is free... FREE WINS everytime, its common sense..

Hmmm, but under your same weak argument, if i happened to download the Paper (like i would do most days if i follow that newspaper), i am a dirty pedo, even though i though i was just getting a properly affiliated and "professional" bit of news...

Over and Over again, these sort of things get blown out of proportion, and your right the law as some flexibility in it, but when people (certain DA's we have spoken about here, in fact) say yea this girl txt'd a picture of her self naked to her boyfried they are HORRIBLE PEOPLE, and deserve to be branded for life... they take the flexibility out for personal and political gain, and where is the justice in that?

So show me where it says that this JUDGE, or DA MUST BE FLEXIBLE and ill show you 100 power hungery, lazy ones, that just follow the letter of the law until you grease their pockets... and lobby or support more laws just like it..

The real answer (albet IMO) is that laws should not be written or voted on by lawyers and judges... you would get easier to understand and better laws, and less of them to... cause the doctors, engineers, and the like dont have time to complicated and could give a flying f about the nuasensed speach the legal bullfrogs put in everything they do...

and you still dont get it and never will, but its ok...

those unable to adapt to new, bigger, more dynamic markets either die or shrink to the point of being a non-player...

And for each that is unable to adapt, that creates another position for the rest of us to fill and monetize...

we just have to keep an eye on them from passing stupidity at the law level, eventually they will go away...

Of course if I ran my books like the Labels did my suppliers would cut me off at the knees, and my investors would have the Government haul me off to jail.. but hey their the Record Labels aye, its supposed to be complicated...

    Re: Label Accounting

Well, if you cant do accounting correct (to pay those who are makeing money for you) and is most likely one of the most universal things in business, all your other numbers (piracy number, how much per track a downloader costs) are complete fiction as well.. but to the other point maybe they can patent number game fiction, course the labels most likely taught Enron how to do accounting too...

Of course that brings up a question, if your say Bernie Maydoff or Enron the government literally hangs you for doing this kind of gaming on the books, but if the labels do it its all smiles and nods and the musicians take it in the back... yet all anyone does is SCREAM PIRATES!!

Try again, the people in France, Canada, U.K., Denmark, and Japan do not agree.. And i speak to people in most of those places everyday... Hell one guy i know in Canada has to hit a lotto in the town he lives in to get to go see a damn doctor...

"How that should be implemented?" - Hmmm Social Security - Broke, Postal Service - Broke, DMV - Broke and non-functional, Police Departments - Broke/Non-functional/reactionary only, Homeland Security- Uselss Joke, list continues for 100's of more pages

so really they havent made one thing work yet in anyway or with any effiecency... so yea lets give over 1/8 of the Economy to the Government...

    Great Idea...

Re: Distinction between Goverment abuse and individual abuse

Yes they should, it would save the taxpayers money and private corporations can/would/and do a better job if its needed at all.

Also they the Government can really take the roll of unbiased referee and not Judge,Plaintiff, and executioner...

if you cant see bias of the Government running those types of projects, and collecting tax, and control.. then you need to take another look at what personal responsibility means and truely what freedom stands for.

    A) just because its a torrent doesnt make it "Stealing" (your term not mine)
    B) 2 if the market place was open (you know like the internet generally is and why you big media people hate it) and others can see.. Hmm Comcast/Verizon/Content shills are creating a market gap i can exploit, i would actually be ok with most of big media's attempts to regulate and stupid shit, why cause the market will cause them to fail... BUT they cant have that so everytime some thing comes up that they dont like or is a threat they legalize, and Take-down notice and all the rest to either a) push the price up so they dont have to play, or b) make the inovators and market place go away... so till you the "intellectual property creator" show me how you plan on letting the market decide and open things up (which you wont do, you loss and the market already decided hense most CD makers and junkers falling on their head) then Long live the pirates...

  • Nokia Getting Killed In The Smartphone Market… So Of Course It Sues For Patent Infringement

    CastorTroy-Libertarian ( profile ), 23 Oct, 2009 @ 09:21am

Re: Re: Some Issues With This

Ok, not as bad as i expected given the length, but i just have to add a point or 3

Most the innovatative products do not come from Nokia, sorry they make great phones, but they usually make them after others prove out a niche or a feature... other than the N-Gage and well i think it made a stink for true innovation

And the iphones been out for 2 years and Apples already grabbed how much of the market share (even give its draconian software limits and single carriers)... i am willing to be Nokia said when it came out, its novel but not a threat, now it and other like it (palm pre if Palm ever decides to not screw up... but thats another story) are now a pretty good threat...

I know my company just did a switch over on phones, we didnt even consider a Nokia for a smart phone, it was Crackberries and Iphones (basically the tech ppl vs. the upper management ill let you decide who wanted what).

So yes ill give you Nokia has a ton to offer, but i dont think in the oncoming smartphone war (basic handsets will go away at that time and it will be the market) Nokia has fallen behind what you see from Crackberry, Apple, Palm, and some of the others (watch phone LG) its a war they can win but i don't think this is really the way to go about it, or is even feasible... what could they make if they took the money from the lawyers and grabbed like 3 geeks out of college... I BET A FREAKING CRAZY phone...

Of course the same could be said of CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NYT, or any other media organization, they all have angles and lean a certain way... or are you saying only if they lean the same way as you then they can be news???
