a while ago, but not because I pirate anything. I stopped because 1. The prices git too high 2. I do not want stacks and stacks of physical discs (streaming or digital downloads are the way to go).
In addition to being bad at math and economics the MPAA and RIAA are technical Luddites.
so why should people expect the company to be any different?
They are in the last gasps of existence (actually I thought they were already gone), so I guess it doesn't matter what they do - except to the poor webmaster they decided to pick on.
So the GOP says that videogames supposedly incite rape, yet Ms. Palins "crosshairs" website, and the hyperbolic rhetoric of the right, do not incite violence or shootings?
Seems to me that these observations are very selective and self-serving.
Whistleblowers?
Why couldn't these guys be protected as whistle-blowers?
AT&T should be paying them. Leaving the flaw unexposed would have posed a much greater risk.
All I can say...
Is that the TV networks should package and sell the drugs that can, obviously, remove them so far from reality.
Microsoft slow or non-responsive??
Surely you jest.
I disagree with the results of this study...
Radio? Oh, yeah
I remember that. It's what used to be in my car before Sirius.
The major labels are such Luddites...
There is a difference between saying
something and posting it on the internet.
If you say something rude to someone it is over quickly and has a limited audience.
Internet postings are (more or less) forever and can be seen by millions of people.
I'm not saying that either should be illegal, just that there are differences and there are limits to "free" speech.
I quit buying CD's and DVD's

Ok let's f#$! with Texas instead.
Let's give Texas back to Mexico, they want to secede anyway.
Real was always the worst software

Re: Re:
"Once the old guard dies off, they have a shot at someone new blazing a path into the digital age..."
IF we make it that far. The Oil-Gas old-guard are powerful and will be kicking and screaming all the way against alternative energy.
(Forgive me for taking a tangent...)
Who cares?
So ban flights to and from Texas, the rest of the country would be better off anyway.
It's NOT ok...
"It's Okay To Ignore The Constitution If..."
Ah yes, the fine American art of hypocrisy.
Can't have it both ways

Major BS
If EVERYONE wore "scanner resistant" clothing they could not possibly pat down everyone - it would break the system.
What the H does "cleared" mean?
I was under the impression that CLEARED meant that the transfer had been acknowledged and completed by both ends.
If a bank can back out of a "cleared" transaction then we have nothing.
Maybe the bank should take longer, double check everything, etc. but when funds are cleared it should mean something.
Blu-Ray - not just for movies
Even if movies are delivered via the internet it will not mean the end of "physical media" - like Blu-Ray DVD.
People will still want and need to burn plenty of movies and other data to storage. Blu-Ray writers will be cheap and available in the near future.
Blu-Ray is a huge, 10-fold, improvement over regular DVD, and will only get better with multi-layer and such (until holographic is available).
Blu-Ray won the contest for two reasons - because it had more storage and because it had a much cooler name.
