  I am waiting for Comcast, Verizon, et al to start broadcasting their policies in rap form so that they can claim it was all for entertainment and not indicative of any service being offered.

  So let's get this straight. If I pass around a sexually explicit photo at my job, I will get fired for sexual harassment, and creating a hostile work environment. But if I worked for the NSA.. .then all is well, right? Where do I sign up for this job?

  For heaven's sake, I cannot believe that we are missing the real story here.
  
  Two, yes TWO persons were allowed to board an aircraft without proper TSA screening! Why aren't we concerned about that, I mean if it's such a big issue.. .oh wait.

  I used to travel to europe a lot in the early 2000s, and this was standard practice at most places (Germany, Switzerland, UK) after 9/11.
  
  They wanted you to power up your electronics to show that they still worked and that you had not replaced a component with some sort of incendiary device,

  I would not read too much into that, it is fairly common to "re-allocate" blame for having to say no to an offer (that is, to make it look like you were told no, even if you did not actually approach the "rules folks").
  
  Not saying that is what happened here (I have no evidence either way), but I have seen similar tactics used repeatedly in business to save face, without breaking the rules.

  I would love to have one of these, and set it up so that when I left my work place building, one followed me. It would make my coworkers extremely paranoid ot hang around me.

  Just track the money. When these scammers make a sale (sic), that money goes somewhere, and someone (the credit card company) can figure out where.
  
  It may not be the end of the money trail, but I'll wager that you can find out a fair amount with that info.
