the U.S. and many European countries. Our people fear our government, whereas, the French Government fears the people. Our government does things to keep people comfortably fearful, like give just enough money for people to get food stamps, pathetic education, and other welfare assistance, but not quite enough to lift themselves up out of poverty or the middle class. Keep us comfortable so we don't revolt. Good strategy on their parts. Seems to work.
The city makes revenue if people break the law. Don't break the law, and the city doesn't make a penny. I don't see what the issue is with using technology to enforce laws where possible, so that police can spend their human hours on more important things. Should radar guns be banned and police be forced to use a stopwatch?

The city makes revenue if people break the law. If people don't break the law, the city doesn't bring anything in. I don't see why people are against the use of technology to enforce these simple laws, so our police can spend their time on more important things.
i think bon jovi is wrong, but i also think it's funny that people think that the new way of doing things means that more music is good. maybe we get less "crap" since we can buy individual songs, but we also rarely get exposed to the experience of an "album" that often told a story. this isn't because of digital media, but mostly because of pop music in general. they still only produce a couple "pop" songs that are worth listening to, and then the rest of their album stinks. so we don't have to purchase it all i guess that's a win for us. i just don't feel like it's truly giving us exposure to better music yet. the record labels still control most of what goes on and still produce mostly garbage.
as more indie's break out though, we'll get better music. and that is now easier than in the radio + tour days.
