  Remembering and looking up

  It was always easier to ask "how do you spell..." instead of looking it up in the dictionary. I remembered if I had to look it up, not so much if I was told. I used to be a good speller until spell check came along, now not so much. In fact spell check often changes a word I don't want it to change and I DON'T notice! Now that's bag.

  I think it is a kind of musicianship. It's a terrific video! I've never learned how to play a keyboard but computers allow me to compose music. While it's true I'd be a hell of a lot better if I had piano training, I still have 2 regional Emmy nominations under my belt. Learning the technology is not unlike learning an instrument. I have an NI Maschine that Madeon has now given me a kick in the ass to learn to program!

  Encryption

  I don't have anything that needs encryption, or encrypted erasure, but I have those programs anyway - because I can. If any old Tom, Dick, or Harry can demand the key, what good is having the program? If the government needs to decrypt something they must do what responsible governments have always done and crack the code! It's good for the brain!

  What I fear most is actually airlines cutting corners on safety, controllers falling asleep, pilots falling asleep, pilots without enough hours in their book to qualify to fly the equipment...

  Jerk Patrols

  The world is full of Jerk Patrols, groups or gangs (flocks?) of like-minded no-nothings who look LOOK for programing they object to so they can object to it, behaviour they dislike so they can whine about it, issues that normally they have nothing to do with (and don't have anything to do with them) that they can raise hell about just to irritate those of us who enjoy knowing that there are all sorts of differences out there, and we can decide for ourselves what we like. The tea party is a good example of people who are making a great deal of noise about things that only pertain to their narrow view. Most of the rest of us want nothing to do with it!

  I think copyrights should expire after a period of time. 50 years maybe? The artist and the artist's immediate family and, of course the record company for a lesser period can collect royalties, but if my uncle had a hit record in the 60s (he didn't) why should I be collecting royalties? Music should all, eventually, be in the public domain.

  Creepy indeed

  I'm always keeping an eye on my PC camera to make sure it's off. I've turned off all of my locator options, my phone only sends locator signals when I dial 911. I firmly do not like being tracked - even by cookies!

  Fake Scripts

  Reviewing a fake script is a rather worthless pursuit on the face of it. If it's a fake script, how could it be copyrighted? That would make it a real script wouldn't it? It's like sending in a blank tape with a list of song titles and copyrighting the music.

  It dismays me to inform that most if not all of our politicians are or were lawyers. Not only can you NOT get them to answer a direct question with a direct forthright answer, the information they have will be spun into any piece of intellectual yarn they choose. Having said that, you are probably right; most of them don't know what a cold boot is.

  It can't be stressed enough that movie companies are still operating like it was the 1940s. They don't want any loss of control of their "property" regardless of how much money it makes for them, or how many people watch their movies. They're trying to eat their own asses and looking idiotic in the process.
