Why is Amazon's abuse of the postal system downplayed? The USPS is a great asset. If the rates may need to be moved inline to avoid losing money, there's no reason to not investigate.
Related to USPS, the rates should be checked. China is making a fortune selling their junk of Ali(*) and paying nearly zero for postage.
If someone was in my house, making up lies, I'd kick them out. They can stand on the street and 'report'.
Why shouldn't the big tech companies be investigated? Sure, it's their platform, do as they please, but do it honestly. The hidden censoring is evident.
Cameras are being placed around the US with the purpose tracking vehicle locations. The transmitters we carry with us are already used to estimate commuting times which is calculated by location change correlated to the time difference. In the corporate world, if you use xfinitywifi, Comcast knows when you pass by any location they're using for "mobile wifi" a.k.a. tracking stations. The cell companies know generally where you are.
China is bold and brazen with openly tracking, but it goes on in the US as well, just disguised as a convenience.
The only failure is the media's ability to comprehend it. I was about to go all in for Diaspora until Google+ came along. My FB friends came over to take a look at my G+ profile and said it was barren. It is.. to them. Just because you are circled, doesn't mean you are seeing anything. Google+ rocks. /. has me because that was my traditional site to get news for nerds and stuff that matters. TechDirt gets my attention because NerdPerfect folded. Those are once a day websites. Google+ has a stream of information that I cannot keep up with. FB is all about being PC and having to 'like' BS. Google+ is about sharing ideas. No other social site can compare to G+. If you're disappointed w/ G+, you probably watch soap operas and 'reality' TV.
Facebook is attempting to block the competition from reading what they already know in plaintext. This isn't about protecting a user's privacy. This is about Facebook wanting to be a walled garden a la AOL in its prime.
if the decision to move to cable is prompted by adding more machines to the network, why not purchase more DSL lines. In my area, I can get 3 1.5 meg DSL lines for the cost of one cable connection.
Waste of time by a waste of an organization

It would be silly to not keep an eye of the groups
Why is it a surprise that the groups are under scrutiny? Sure, poor security in posting the bookmarks, but it would be foolish to not monitor them.
Techdirt is going full /.
First, all fans of Pepe the Frog are racist. Now Techdirt totally leaves out the issue that the Mom left the kid to float around the car.
The cop is still wrong, but damn this site is moderated by bullshit artists.
The US already has a vehicle tracking system

It's not surprising
