Yikes. I didn't know that sharing your password with the rest of your family was illegal. Is he right about that?
"Sorry Net Neutrality Chicken Littles, Title II & Net Neutrality Still Haven't Hurt Broadband Investment In The Slightest"
Jeez. Give it a couple of years before claiming victory, huh? Obamacare didn't destroy healthcare until 2016-2017, and that was enacted 5 years ago!
Good Lord, why do I keep coming back to this site? I'm always so angry at our government by the time I leave.
"You see, we have a problem in the mobile gaming sector, thanks to you. You would rather buy a pumpkin spice latte a few times a week and enjoy it for a few minutes than buy a game that you can play as long as you would like."
I think he missed the real point. The real point is that 'mincemeat pie' has been around for hundreds of years, and it is exactly the flavor people are now calling 'pumpkin spice'. It seems like pumpkins are culturally appropriating the mincemeat pie flavor.
We need to fight the power and take that name back. Who's with me, social justice warriors? Mincemeat lattes for freedom!
"Supposedly, law enforcement officers are afraid to do their jobs properly, fearing reprisal, public humiliation or possible prosecution for deploying any form of force. "
This is not believable to you?
I have patented the word 'the'. Any time you use it, you owe me a quarter.
Ok, the patent is still 'pending', but I want my quarter!
All insightful people believe that mass shootings are a sign we need more guns, Mark.
Normally, I side with the pessimistic anti-government view that tends to drive the posts here at techdirt. But not this time. If someone showed that 'clock' to me, I'd have thought 'bomb' too. And I put computers together (well, occasionally, once a week or so) as part of my job.
It sucks that they arrested this kid, but every part up until that point is extremely reasonable imo.
"No man can feel sure that wherever he may be there is not a concealed phonograph remorseless gathering up his remarks and ready to reproduce them at some future date."
It kinda sounds like they were right all along. Dang you, Edison. Dang you to heck!
There's no way they can do this. For one thing, the characters in Times Square aren't copyrighted. Their names are SpiderGuy and Mickey Vermin.
I dunno. Budweiser may be right on this one. As you know, social justice warriors are demanding that everyone accept and preach that there is no difference between the sexes.
And if you don't agree with me RIGHT NOW I'm going to report you to the internet feminist shock troops.
You say 'clearly hyperbolic'. I don't see that at all. I saw the tweet as more 'it is common knowledge'. He's definitely got a case here.
Does it have a sunset provision, or is the law forever?
Ha! You are absolutely correct. I did have them confused. Thanks.
Didn't this site used to talk about technology sometimes? Or has it always been copyright and patent talk?
"GM Says That While You May Own Your Car, It Owns The Software In It, Thanks To Copyright"
I own books that I don't own the copyright to. But I write and scribble in them all the time. Once you own it, you can do what you want to it. You just can't sell it after you change it.
So if I'm reading this correctly, there is porn on blogspot.com? That's fantastic news. Porn is so difficult to find on the web.
"A recent court of appeals decision UPHELD (all caps for a reason)"
Well don't keep us in the dark, Tim. What was the reason?
I, for one, commend the police chief for not allowing his cops to rape people while abusing their rights to freedom.
Expert opinion
I have to say that I playing shootemup games makes you want to kill people irl any more than playing football makes you want to kick stuff through anything vaguely shaped like a Y irl.
And I'm more than an expert on child development. I actually WAS a child earlier in life and went through the development firsthand.
