Won't somebody please think of the Mike!
Listening to music at home is killing concert attendance!
You committed copyright infringement when you viewed those images with your eyeballs and stored them in your brain. The MAFIAA goons will be along shortly to perform a lobotomy in the interest of saving US jobs
"Some big content company decides the site I use for distribution is a site "dedicated to infringing activities""
This statement implies nothing to do with the site being 'dedicated to infringing activity'. If you go on Big Content's definition of sites dedicated to infringing activity, you end up with a ton of collateral damage, such as Ebay, Craigslist, YouTube etc.
Some infringement empowered by use of these sites does not make them dedicated to infringing.
Even considering tangible good he's mistaken. It's cheaper in the long run PER unit to make 1000 of something than 10, as you spread any development, tooling costs over more units. Each is incrementally more profitable.
Of course having more people use my item also means more word of mouth etc etc, but since when have the copyright mob preferred abundance over scarcity.
I look forward to the day when governments start paying attention to what the people want. The rise of social networking is enabling peaceable demonstration in volumes not seen before.
I look forward to the day that anyone who helped pass such draconian laws restricting freedom of artistic expression and trampling on basic human rights is held as accountable for crimes against humanity as a war criminal.
everything you buy must be 'fit for purpose' or you're entitled a full refund. That typically applies to tangible goods though and has yet to be extended to movies, music etc.
I'm all for getting a refund on a shitty movie, especially if the trailer misled me.
Might make the movie companies up their game....
Every single home computer user knows someone who can help change their DNS settings. Having a reliable tech friend has become mandatory for anyone owning a modern PC.
Once these alternate DNS become tried tested and trusted, most friendly neighbour IT literates, such as myself, will be offering to change the settings on the PC of anyone who should invite me over, regardless of for defragging, reinstalling OS, setting up a new modem etc.
My take is he wanted to show how LACK of creative people trickles down and eliminates jobs selling their products
Unnecessary hedging hypocrisy fail
I get all BBC and some other radio channels on my cable box. I can use my DVR to record them, effectively time shifting them. This is legal, and it the exact same functionality as DAR (aside from the fact my DVR records blank video as well as capturing audio).
"....they began by attacking the keyboard with a stone, then proceeded to urinate and defecate on it."
So, one step up from British tabloid journalists then?
Sounds like he should follow the advice of 'his' own slogan
Since the BBC is funded by the public, I fail to see why they are pursuing this
Don't be obtuse Marcus, it's all about the points man!
Likely Jedi was set up much like Springtime for Hitler, with Lucas the equivalent of an untalented Max Bialystock. Unfortunately he fucked too many Grannies and now owes $452 for each $1 Jedi earns.
Imaginary numbers deal with the square root of negative one.
Hollywood's imaginary accounting deals with the square root of jack

"It's laughable to suggest that the AFRD has the same resources, sophistication and wherewithal as the Federal government"
So why the fuck should we trust their judgement?
