  Yet another reason why I don't buy iCrap...

  Along with those previously arbitrary walls, said "Apple morality", their closed source proprietary bullshit, and the distinct lack of functional interoperability (without hacking/cracking/unlocking/whatever) with non-Apple products/software.

  I live in Oregon, I've never heard of this law. I routinely use the mapping function of my phone without a problem, and I have discussed the handsfree requirements (Bluetooth sends out radio signals BTW) with the cops I know & this has never come up.

  The Failure of Modern Society...

  The key to this whole article lies in two sentences of the last paragraph.

  "There's a way to pull out of this nosedive but it involves many, many people being willing to make judgement calls on the fly and able to face the heat should their judgement falter. Unfortunately for many in the system, the risk is much higher than the reward."

  The problem is today's society is too over bureaucratized and litigious to deal with reasonable people making educated decisions, and *Gasp* an honest mistake. The fact is that almost nobody is willing to take responsibility for their own actions, and tries to "pass the buck", leading in this case to a moronic interpretation of a pointless "zero-tolerance policy".

  Fraser Cain writes "GoDaddy listened to reason, and reversed their position on SOPA. Here's a crowdsourced list of every other company supporting SOPA with web address, Twitter feed, contact emails and phone numbers. Perhaps they should be contacted to find out if they still fully support SOPA, or have changed their mind."

  Of course, GoDaddy has just dropped their public support of the Stop Online Piracy Act or SOPA. But, they still support the Senate version of SOPA, called PIPA or PROTECT-IP.
