    the information they found, honestly isnt that hard to get if you know where to look, and they did it just to cause you to react as you have.

    the worst thats likely to happen is you may get some nasty phone calls and emails, maybe a few dozen pizza's if your really unlucky.....

    let me be clear, i do want the list of those who caused this, not to attack them or threaten them, I have sent a few messages to authors on FB and via email, no threats just thanking them for marking themselves off my list of people whos work I may want to give a chance.

    I want this list so I can setup a "DO NOT SUPPORT" list so that people can choose not to support authors whos reading comprehension is clearly below that of a elementary school student...

    authors who just rushed in to attack....

    I doubt anybody from TD sent threats, but this hit slashdot and some other sites where.....im sure there are those kind of people......

    these authors made their own bead, I would like them to actually be forced to lay in it for a bit.

    last I checked, at least around here, you cant do 100% trade for new titles/items at gamestop, they limit you to a %, you can get a higher % off of used then new, but you dont save much here buying used anyway, so most people I know who do shop there, buy new and trade in stuff they dont want to play again(mostly crap games), once in a while sell games for cash to friends or on ebay then recycle that money into buying more new games.

    another thing to point out that nobody has mentioned is that publishers STILL get full price for the new games, even if people where to be able to trade in 4:1 to get them.

    remember, gamestop buys the games they sell from publishers or their primary distributors, so they are just complaining that they possibly could have sold a few more copies at full price if gamestop didnt make it convenient and easy to trade in used stuff.....

    the converse is that places where there is no gamestop (and even places there is one) you can find groups of people who just trade games or buy/sell/trade games because they cant afford to buy every new title that comes out....I was part of a group like this for PC games years ago, it was good some of the guys would even buy extra copies at full price and trade them for older titles or titles they couldnt buy locally....(managed to get 3 brand new titles for one older hard to find box set that cost me less then 1/2 the price of 1 of the new titles, he really wanted that box set....hehe)

    my point is, unless your a total idiot, used buy/sell/trade programs do not equate to less new sales, they actually drive new sales, and they get people into new franchises much the same way deep cut steam sales have done for some less known games......

    hell, i cant count the number of games I have on steam that I only got because of crazy sales that then lead to me buying the whole franchise AND on top of that, getting friends and acquaintances to buy in as well

    I once had a disney rep tell me a copy of a disney movie I had was counterfeit.....despite the fact it was bought as Disney world...his proof was that the lable was poorly printed on one side....(like the disk had somethink on it, finger oil for example) yet it was encrypted, and had the disney DRM that kept it from working in older dvd players....(why i complained to the asshole in the first place) i ended up after that just copying all the movies for a neibor lady of mine charged her 5bucks a disk so her kids could watch themovies they got them for christmas....(they had old tv's with first gen dvd players in them that would lock up 1/2 way into the movie)....the copies worked fine....orignals she ended up selling to somebody who ran a daycare.....lol

    disney lost a customer due to their shoddy DRM that stopped legit use.....stupid fuckers....

    note: I say this because may corporate users get RIM devices specifically due to their reputation for being secure....now that this is clearly no longer the case, i expect many to move to android and just use apps said to be secure.

    try titan quest, even legit copies can crash from the DRM in the orignal game.....with no warning or message as to why they just closed out on you.....(why the game got a bad reputation)

    the dumbshits made their own DRM that was only sposta crash "pirates" but it randomly effected legit copies as well :P

    thats not the point, DRM is ment to stop "piracy" (copyright infringement) you cant say steams done that, it may prevent games that are steam only from being leaked early, but it dosnt stop them from being copied and shared.....

    steam drm dosnt work to stop piracy, check out l4d/l4d2/portal2 and most other steam games are torrent-able soon after release......the steam versions of some games are easier to pirate then the rest.....so it dosnt work to stop piracy in the way DRM proponents insist, steam promotes purchase due to good prices and excellent service.

    housing potheads costs between 25k and 40k a year each, muliply that by the number of non-violent drug offenders we have in prison in this country, then try and tell me it wouldnt save a hell of alot of money to just let them out....hell you could give them all foodstamps and let them live on somebodies couch and it would still save huge ammounts of money....

    I cant remember the figures but the amound we would save each year was enough to cover creating a true NHS for this country and have money left over...it was an insane amount of money wasted on people who at worst harmed themselves by doing drugs....(and in the case of pot, thats even debateable)

    legalize it, regulate it, tax it.....everybody benefits.....

    actually this isnt true, the problem comes in from the fact that there is less money put into education then there was when we had an education system that was the envy of the world(and yes at one time we did have such a public education system)

    and by less money I dont mean dollars but what those dollars are worth, inflation has made money worth less and less as im sure you know.

    teaches shouldnt have to spend a large chunk of their pay checks to buy supplies for class, but they do, I say this as somebody whos father was a teacher(Still works in education)...

    as to social security, I love how people like the above say its an entitlement.....despite the fact that your just getting ur own money back...I happen to think its a good thing that people are forced into saving in this case, It has fixed many of our societies problems honestly.

    I notice that everybody who is pushing these programs always complains that they are being forced to work for other people.....yet the same people dont see the problem when they benefit from tax funded systems....
