    I would agree, but,there are many things that have been pulled from netflix because MAFIAA companies want more profit, they feel their content should be worth more then they where getting.

    many MAFIAA companies would love nothing more then to be able to charge you for each time you view/listen to content.

    I can see this as being a reaction to those desires, if it works, fine it makes some money for google and the mafiaa, if not, its yet more evidence that their greed is causing them to loose money.

    well, in reality there are a good number of MAFIAA companies who would love to have DRM that allowed them to control the platform(locked in devices) and allowed them to charge per view/listen to any content.

    you know they even tried to get music services like itunes to build them a way they could charge people per listen/view?

    linux as your primary os.....you must be a masochist...or you dont do anything serious desktop/gaming wise...

    Linux isnt evil or bad, but, its far from optimal as a desktop for most people, and due to how the linux communities work, I doubt it ever well reach the point of wide desktop acceptance.

    I just hope your not like a few ex-clients of mine who try and force ubuntu on unspecting noobs/normal users who really are better off on osx or windows.....

    sorry if this comes off as a rant, I just had to deal with this crap all weekend again, somebody convinced an old client of mine she needed ubuntu rather then windows 7(the system came with pro even...), she suffered with it for over a month, not able to do some of her normal primary functions before calling me because the person who stuck her on ubuntu wouldnt help her kept telling her to read the forums or ask for help on irc.....

    in the end she gave up and called me, expecting to pay me 100bucks(my normal fee for full os/software reinstall)

    I didnt charge her, told her not to listen to his ilk again, linux has its uses but for her work, its a bad fit.

    she has to edit and communicate in office 2010 files CONSTANTLY and they have to come out properly formatted when she emails them.....she couldnt get that with open office, she also uses some software that dosnt work under wine without alot of futzing around(her company requires it)

    bunch of other issues as well....in the end, part of this is just my frustration with an OS I had high hopes for many years ago, before i saw the "community" for what it is....a bunch of know it alls who refuse to get togather and set standards as a whole....so we have thousands of distros very few 100% compatible with any other....

    that said, I do use Vector Linux for some users who just need a email/web/homework type machien(as long as ms office isnt required), it works on almost any x86 system, even old very slow ones feel snappy with it(faster then XP anyway)

    btw, it wasnt MS stopping them from supporting the DRM, a very loud portion of the linux community hate silverlight/mono/moonlight because its an MS invention, so they do all they can to sabotage it, MS offered and gave help getting support for silverlight on linux.....MS arent the good guys but, every time they do something smart/nice it seems a loud portion of the linux community kick them in the teeth for it....

    anyway, the one thing I say to people using linux who complain about issues is quite simple: you made your choice, you knew you where choosing a non-standard platform, dont blame the rest of the world for not supporting it....if you want support stick to one of the main platforms(windows/osx)...

    bah now im all anoied again.....just thinking about all that time wasted reinstalling windows7+office+other stuff....bangs head into desk

    a little note: apple dosnt actually make anything, they have foxconn make most of their stuff.

    as to apples claim the parts where counterfeit, i wouldnt take that as fact, they once told me that a screen I had replased in an iphone for somebody was counterfeit....i had pulled it out of an iphone thats battery had bulged and stopped holding a charge....mind it was an iphone that had never been opened till i swapped its screen with a cracked one..

    in the end the apple store guy did some magic and got both phones replaced for the people I had done the work for...despite apple taking no responcibility for the failure of the battery(he made up another excuse it failed that apple would accept)

    it still cost them, and you should enjoy this, 235usd to get the 2 phones replaced...

    the one whos screen had broken was dropped 6 inches onto a kitchen table and the screen just shattered.....

    apple consider anything you do yourself or thats not done in their own shops to be counterfeit, even my repairing/upgrading of apple systems is considered counterfeit because I never use apple branded ram(because its 2-6x the price)

    this is the company caught shipping referb hdd's in new imac's and mini's not to long ago selling the units as new....

    if not google it and see, theres no door, you have to take the whole thing apart with special tools to replace the battery....apple charge a mint do to it(seen people pay over 100bucks to get a batter replaced by apple)

    so a large portion of the countries biggest businesses claiming tax losses due to piracy and such are all kosher, but when a small guy/gal does it for their business its not acceptable?

    seems a bit hypocritical to me.

    but thats the american way honestly, if you got the money you can claim to be loosing millions a year and use made up/fuzzy numbers and the IRS wont even batt an eye......

    look at the mafiaa, they claim that "piracy"(copyright infringement) is costing them more money then there is in the world each year....and the never get taken to the rug on it.

    thats an example of a movie thats made the studio a ton of money but that they claim has made no profit.

    my stand is, people should pay their fair taxes, but they also shouldnt be required to sign away their souls to be considered a legitimate business.

    i could go on and on, I could also point out that the RIAA has raided more then 1 legit record/music store with swat style gettups causing damage to the business and their rep, and they have NEVER ONCE found pirated music in one of these raids.

    they have however confiscated mix cd's from legit publishers and burned cd's and home copied/mastered cassettes by local indi bands/artists destroying them with the excuse they must be pirated because if they arent pressed/professionally copied they cant be legit...

    funny...since I have helpe 3 bands setup their own audio mastering systems and helped them get out their first albums that they used normal quality cd-r media and dvd burners to produce......

    your so full of shit your eyes must be brown.....

    oh and yes a few cases of people folding and taking plees have happened, but, when your looking at a stack of trumped up felony charges and years in prison, and you dont have the millions to fight the charges....

    gotta love our society and injustice system, thems who gots the monies makes the rules....

    what you dont get is, this is how the prison lobby want it, they push for more and more laws to create more and more criminals, because the more people who are branded criminal the more people they get paid to house.

    the prison lobby wants every american (outside themselves ofcorse) to be branded felon, and be tossed in prison, then when they get out, they WANT people to have to fall back to being criminals because, after all, thats how they make their billions.....

    seriously, hell that law in AZ to check peoples papers to make sure they are citizens.....prison lobby was behind that....

    laws to try and ensure that minors cant ever get out from under anything they do, no matter how minor....

    ask yourself this, why does this country have the largest % of its population in prison world wide?

    I know people who fell back to breaking the law to afford to live due to this kinda crap, when you cant find a job and you find out its because something that was supposedly expunged is still there.....and that it always will be....and thus you cant get any meaningful work....
