IF ONLY women knew that it is one thing for us piggies to admire, desire, or fantasize about a 'perfect body/woman' (which we NEVER expect to come to fruition, EVER); but they can't know that 90%+ of us are ABSOLUTELY THRILLED with her (supposed) less-than-perfect body... she is perfectly fine to us ! ! !

thank you, ninja, i have been beating this drum for a while: journalists don't have 'superior' rights to us regular schmoes, WE ALL have those same rights...
reporters are merely PROXIES for us, representing what we could do if we had the time, inclination, and resources to maintain ourselves as an informed electorate...
which is -of course- the fundamental conflict between Empire and us: The They (tm) do NOT want us to be an informed electorate, they want us to be ignorant, and at each other's throats, not stretching the necks of the 1%...

really, SERIOUSLY, given how 'normal' people can look VERY different in photos, i don't see how a photo lineup can be a trusted technique...
that it might winnow OUT suspects seems reasonable, but to select a suspect based ONLY on a picture seems, um, suspect...
of course, i guess the point is, the kops/persecutors don't really care, as long as they are 'solving' cases and generating numbers...

Re: Re: Wow, broadbandmap.gov is WAY wrong

    bwa ha ha ha haaaaa
just went to the map, and it is a joke...
it lists that i have like 6-7 'providers' i could choose from ! ! !
wowie zowie, what have i been bitching about all these years ! ! !
oh, wait a minute, all but one is a wireless provider (which they are listing as some 10-25 Mbs speed, ha ha, you're funny), and the one cable provider they list has had a map showing they covered BEYOND our area by 2-3 miles for the last 15-20 years, BUT THEY ARE LYING, THEY DO NOT OFFER SERVICE HERE...
well, that's funny, our ACTUAL ISP is NOT listed, you know, the one with the fucking 'NON-COMPETE AGREEMENTS' with everyone else... when you call up ANY potential ISP competitor, the second you enter your zip code, it literally transfers you to the shit ISP we already have but can't escape from...

    1. a SEX-obsessed 'culture' hyperventilates about a fine looking woman showing a portion of a fine looking boobie during THE high-testosterone event of the year ? ? ?
    hypocrisy abounds...
    2. could have done without the pastie thing, ruined a good boobie...
    3. it is certain there were MANY commercials during the broadcast far more 'disgusting' and 'obscene' than a jj nip slip...
    4. as a general rule, most any woman who wants to show me her boobies is welcome; i can confidently speak to this for 99.99% of the male population, and about 5-10% of the female population...
(yes, even gay males will want to see her boobs, *that's* how fine she is...)

w-e-l-l, i would certainly put this in the category of 'smart guy talks out his butt about shit he doesn't know about', but to say chomsky is some sort of 'fringe' nutball shows how little YOU know about him...

i have no doubt he has been hoodwinked by a charlatan with semi-plausible -and semi-real- claims, AND he has ZERO clue about any of the attendant technical issues; BUT it is actually kind of instructive in terms of the manner he typically analyzes contemporary media and shows how IF YOU DON'T KNOW THE CONTEXT, you don't know what you don't know...
that is his problem in this situation...

again, i have problems with chomsky's approach on a lot of REAL conspiracies in our his story (he essentially either dismisses then outright as impossible, or dismisses them as having no significant impact on his story), BUT i would -as a matter of general principle- subscribe to his take on most anything he puts some thought to analyzing...

'right to work' is doublespeak, what it REALLY means is, right to fire your ass without any reason whatsoever...

not just the GMO, etc angle...

...it is that it -essentially- favors Big Agri over family farms such that they are disappeared...
when we 'help' other countries with their agriculture, etc, almost always that means we are IMPOSING a huge, COSTLY system of farming which locks you into Big Agri's system from beginning to end: you are dependent upon them for EVERYTHING, and the banks, etc WILL FORCE you to adhere to their regimen, or you don't get shit...
FURTHER, it is all to grow 'commercial' crops which WE fat westerners might 'need', but it doesn't grow ANYTHING for the locals to eat: they go from raising most of their own food, to raising NOTHING they can eat, but ONLY whatever Big Agri wants them to grow...

"I truly have a hard time seeing how this would be considered acceptable by anybody."
there you go again, 'thinking' like a human bean would do, NOT like a fictitious legal entity with superior rights would do...

zimzat certainly 'sounds' indian (gee, a suit at BCCL?), and definitely a hard corps authoritarian... (actually, personally disappointed at the high percentage of indians who are HUGE authoritarians...)

i mean, why would i object if my bosses wanted to make sure all mail to my home address is proper and right, and -you know- not really 'take over' my home address, but -you know- just sort of enhance it with company mail too ! ! ! just inspecting my personal mail to make sure its approved, and -you know- deleting mail the company finds offensive and stuff, i mean -really- doing its employees a favor...

geez, what ingrates, why would anybody object to that...

  • George Lucas Wants Desperately To Preserve Old Movies… Unless They're His; So Fans Are Trying To Do It Instead

    very interesting point...

...about how lucas et al had a copyright on the *original* movie, and if they changed it (barely? significantly?) do they still have a valid copyright ? ? ?
seems if it were you and me (joe and jane nobody) if WE did something like that, it would be some sort of fraud against the state...
also want to mention another after-the-fact editing which frosts my flakes: spielberg bowing to IDIOTIC pressure and 'touching up' ET (seems like another movie, too) where he took all the guns out of the hands of police chasing the kids/ET in that scene... kee-rist on a crutch...
of course, the REALITY is, elliot, ET and the rest of the kids would be fucking shot dead on sight, these days...

    Re: Split opinion

so, the 'metric' is (why am i betting your metric will change depending on what is debunked, why am i betting you will find some way to excuse authoritarian excess ?) how 'deadly' their job is equates to HOW MUCH someone's 'word' should be given credence ? ? ?
you know, it is instances like this that make me wonder if there is ONE FUCKING HUMAN BEAN left who knows what 'logic' and 'rational thinking' is...
because you DO realize that donut eaters are actually FAR down the list of occupations where people are KILLED on the job...
(NOTE, not DYING on the job: falling off a scaffold, etc, but KILLED DEAD by another nekkid ape...) cabbies, firefighters, and RETAIL STORE CLERKS are MURDERED on the job MORE than kops...
so-o-o-o, according to YOUR 'reasoning' (coughidiotcough), cabbies are THE most truthful and trustworthy people on the planet...
(frankly, i think cabbies probably ARE more truthful and trustworthy than -say- kops, but i don't think that has fuckall to do with how 'deadly' their jobs are...)
again, 90% plus of kops NEVER draw their weapons in the course of their CAREERS, much less their average day of cooping and extorting donuts...
kops are NOT here to 'serve and protect' us 99%, but the PROPERTY and interests of the 1%... THEY WILL KILL US ALL -black AND white- TO 'SAVE' a store or a loaf of bread, THAT is reality...
