  • Slick Dude Butt-Dials 911 On His Way To A Drug Deal, Is Promptly Arrested

    Re:

    really...
i live in a ruralish area, and if you have something stolen that is -approx- less than a car, forget about it...
they sound annoyed you even call them with 'petty' shit like that, thanks for protecting and serving, donut-eaters...

what i don't get is, WHY don't you fucking make a fucking report, piggie, then maybe -JUST MAYBE IF YOU DO YOUR FUCKING JOB INSTEAD OF SCARFING DONUTS AND COOPING- when you compile enough reports to have a pattern, you can bust some thieves who wipe out TONS OF PEOPLES 'stuff', but none of it on a case-by-case basis is 'valuable' enough for the piggies to get out of their recliners...

occasionally, they will actually catch a thief by random chance (a salient quote comes to mind: even a blind pig will find an acorn once in a while), and -what a surprise!- they often find a garage or shed FILLED with TONS of stuff the thieves have been stealing/selling for YEARS...
    huh, who woulda thunk it...

but the useless piggies haven't bothered, because it wasn't cars and expensive jewelery, but a teevee here, a bunch of tools there, an old trailer, an AC unit, whatever, but not really a -you know- 'sexy' crime and stuff...

they have close to ZERO interest in actually solving the petty crimes that MOST PEOPLE experience MOST of the time: 99% of us aren't murdered/raped/beaten during our lives: but MOST of the crimes we are victims of is petty theft, which the kops don't give a shit about...

the crimes that affect us the most, they care about the least...

...I'm a medium eagles fan, BUT -until i got to the end of the article- i *thought* this was about the philadelphia eagles football team refusing to license their team fight song or something, which didn't make sense either...

THAT is how far OUT OF MIND the eagles are as a band to me: irrelevant... and i say this with one of my ten cd's in my truck being a best of eagles...

    1. you really are shitheel of a human bean...
    2. that nearly 100% of the 1% of the inertnet denizens who frequent this (or similar) sites and have an abiding interest in the subject may indeed 'know' that their metadata is vast and too easily hoovered, is one thing...
    3. for the VAST majority of inertnet users, yes, they may have some working theory that they are vulnerable, they may have some suspicions that The They (tm) don't have their best interests at heart, etc; but MOST are using the tubes without having a clue, because YOU DON'T HAVE TO...
just like 90% of the people who drive cars might have some scant knowledge of how an internal combustion engine works, etc, they REALLY don't know shit about it unless/until someone educates them on how it works...
AND, for the most part, THEY DON'T CARE: their car stops working, they call a mechanic; their tubes stop working, they call a nerd, they don't have to 'know' shit about it...

    uh huh...
you BREATHE a word of 'jury nullification' or ANYTHING remotely like that, and you will be struck from the pool in approximately 99% of the courtrooms in the country...

EVEN THOUGH, not only is so-called 'jury nullification' COMPLETELY 'legal' (whatever that means anymore), but ABSOLUTELY the right and duty of citizens to invoke to stop or ameliorate over-zealous persecutors...

IN SPITE of it not only being 'legal', BUT -i would aver- OUR HIGHEST DUTY to perform when 'the law is an ass', judges and DA's will NOT allow that kind of -you know- populist crap to go on in "THEIR" courtrooms...
you may think or theorize that they are OUR courtrooms, but you would be wrong: they are the courts of the 1%, and all the officers of the court are functionaries of the 1%...

beer is actually the cradle of civilization...
    (seriously)

now, if you are saying most major brands of beer in amerika are useless flagons of piss-water, i can't disagree with that...

further, if you are saying that so-called 'light' beers are not actually beer, but beer-flavored water, then i agree again...

(unless you want me to insult you AND yo mama, don't offer me a so-called 'light' beer and say it is a 'beer'; it is not...)

    Re:

i'll just reply to you, since boner's 'music is sacrament' statement is annoying, much like he is...

no, music is NOT sacrament, i realize it has a LOT of meaning to a LOT of lives, but not necessarily everyone, and not necessarily as deeply as he thinks...

when i'm sitting at my desk idly drumming a pattern, that is a form of music, it is not a sacrament, and it is not really a huge deal, but it IS a form of music that i enjoy...

you, your wife, your kids, they sing a line or two, they hum a song, they dance around crazily and sing nonsense tunes, it is all still 'music', maybe not polished, maybe formless, maybe not professional caliber by any stretch, but it IS 'music'...

AND, i would maintain that such personal music 'performances' are 100 times more valuable than music made by professionals for us to merely consume, NOT perform...

i'm sorry, most musicians are NOT so special: ANY OF US with the time and inclination could do what 90%+ of them do; they are NOT all virtuosos and geniuses one step removed from mozart...

  • Dept. Of Law Enforcement Investigates Notorious 'Speed Trap' Town Whose Seven Officers Wrote Up More Than 11,000 Tickets Last Year

    Re: Re:

in a real sense, i think the opposite is true here...
waldo -as a lot of other 'truckstop' towns were(are)- was a fairly hopping place back in the day: it was on Hwy 301, which was THE main highway for a number of decades in that area of the state, and a pipeline for snowbirds, so it had a lot of motels, diners, tourist traps, etc... (still has some, but 90% of them rotting away)
also was a semi-hub of transportation (still is to a minor extent) with a couple major highways and railroad intersecting there...
now ? the interstates have bypassed that area, so not nearly as much traffic as historically...
have a big truckstop, a popular flea market, and an amtrak 'station', and that's about it...

    Re:

    where's waldo ?
    not too far away...

thing is, locals know they are a speed trap and drive judiciously through town; so its only stupid tourists etc who bear the brunt of it... well, a lot of local UF students probably get caught too, speeding through on their way home, or whatever...

its a nothing of a town, and it would be (obviously) REAL easy to miss any one of the speed limit signs, not to mention the quick succession they come in, such that you can hardly react to one sign to slow down before you're right to the next one...

thank you for a little common sense...

IF we are 'equal', then it should be no difference between whether a man hits a woman, a woman hits a man, a man hits a man, or a woman hits a woman... in other words, NO ONE SHOULD HIT ANYONE EVER, regardless of genders...
BUT, that isn't how the world really sees things, and really works, is it ? ? ?

further, if THE VICTIM does not want to press charges, etc (FOR WHATEVER REASONS SHE MAY HAVE), then i'm not sure The State is obliged to act otherwise, IN THIS CASE...

i am nearly 100% certain the NFL/owners/goodell don't give a shit about ANYTHING but making money: they don't care if the players are murderers, rapists, nazis, etc; they don't care about violence against woman, drug usage, etc, EXCEPT IF it becomes a stink in the media, THEN they 'care'...

when it slides under the radar, they ignore it; if it becomes public and a big deal, THEN they do the least they can get away with...

as an aside, the posters who mention other players who were arrested/jailed for various crimes and should be banned from humanity, are simply compounding the problem: IF you don't believe in redemption/rehabilitation, then YOU are showing inhumanity EQUAL to the ones you excoriate...

lastly, i'll say that the legions of (mostly) men who go off on rice and talk big about he should be beaten or castrated or whatever, are exhibiting THE EXACT SAME BEHAVIOR, and are as big of hypocrites and morons as he is...
