what a dependable shitheel you are:
whenever there is a chance to side with authoritarian goons who have gone FAR beyond their legal mandate, whatever will be there to defend the indefensible...

Re: Way to attract the best talent

while i understand the principles involved, principles are the FIRST to be chucked out the window when you need a stupid fucking job to feed your rugrats...
then when you are in an unprincipled organization, all the rest just follows 'naturally': YOU become corrupted such that, well, you might as well whistleblow yourself as being part of the broken system which is the problem...

and i bet dollars to donut holes...

...that such power is nebber ebber abused and something along the lines of:
'hey, this is a nice bodega here, be a shame if us donut eaters had to shut it down for being, well, a nice neighborhood bodega...'
and $50-100 changes hands and the bodega is not shut down...
    ...this week
    bet that nebber, ebber happens...
at this point, i think us 99% would be better off with ZERO police...

Re: Sponsored by Golden Frog? What a disgrace.

    1. don't know nuthing about no steenking golden, silver, or bronze frogs...
    2. actually, was going to post (as a proud ABP/ghostery/noscript user) that i found those restrained, on-point, and relatively unobtrusive 'inline' ads to be fine...
    3. if ads were mostly like that, wouldn't have any where near the hatred of them i do now... oh, i would probably still hate them, just not as rabidly and righteously...

    @whatever
it is not often i am moved to comment on a poster merely because they are an idiot; if that were the case, i would have no time for anything else...
but you, sir whatever, simply push the boundaries of idiocy to new heights...

  • Apr 19th, 2016 @ 5:49pm

    yeahhhhh, no...

most any time i try some offbeat stuff like seaweed crackers or whatever, it is like: ohhhhh-kay, not totally awful, but still not 'good'; i can rarely choke down enough to be a serving...
after a few bites of whatever 'super-food', it REALLY makes me thankful for the next plate of ribs i have...
thanks for being, piggies, you are tasty critters ! ! !

we simply need to get away from the factory farming model, and go back to the distributed, homestead based-agricultural practices and local animal husbandry...
zillion gallon poo lagoons for factory-raised chickens, pigs, etc, is UNNATURAL as hell, and causes a whole raft of attendant issues...
but a dozen chickens on every property or so, a couple pigs every neighborhood, and the poo gets deployed in a helpful manner to benefit the cycle of the farm in keeping the soil replenished with nutrients, etc...
we have perverted the systems which worked well for thousands of years, and by unnaturally concentrating and raising livestock, we have made an unsustainable, destructive cycle...
just so a FEW fancy pants can rake in zillions, and we get inferior products and a wasted environment WE pay to clean up, NOT the fancy pants...

Re: Again, what is it they think they will find?

just like droning poor brown people half a planet away produces an endless stream of terrorist recruits, so does the police state treatment of citizens here produce a whole country who despises the goons of Empire...

(except for the propaganda victims and authoritarians who EVEN IF they themselves were 100% innocent and got jacked up by The Man, would aver that it as 100% righteous and double-plus good that they got jacked up, 'cause doesn't that show just how much The They are looking out for us ? ? ? *snort* none so blind...)

    a meta-comment on lying...

ok, so it is unlikely the mainstream media will EVER call a liar a liar, who isn't otherwise a pariah (puppetmaster-approved, of course!); but WE can...
not only can, but absolutely SHOULD as our collective duty to have active redress to 'our' (sic) gummint...
the kongress is corrupt and broken; the media is corrupt and broken; the judiciary is corrupt and broken, and it is ONLY US'ns who can route around these broken systems...
    here, i'll start:
    Comey is a fucking liar.
LIES are essentially the coin of the realm, and he is paid to maintain necessary illusions (a la chomsky), NOT to expose the lies and lawlessness of Empire...
he is, in fact, a TRAITOR to the constitution of the united states of america; as are innumerable others acting contrary to every tenet and right guaranteed to us all, NO MATTER WHAT !
they traduce our rights with extreme prejudice, and NOT ONE OF THEM will stand up for morality, ethics, and respecting the natural law we people want, and not the kafka-esque, korporate-kontrolled law to keep us 'legally' powerless and afraid of OUR gummint...
THAT is the harm liars and traitors like Comey do. until the system is purged of power-elite toadies, it will act no differently...

Re: But Artists Need To Get Paid !

i guess i don't get it: wasn't this basically work-for-hire, such that if public monies paid for the artwork, and it was publicly owned, on public property, within public view (presumably being the whole point of public display), then how could the 'public' (government body) NOT own the artwork and all attendant rights ? ? ?
i suppose it is possible the public could pay the artist's and yet the artist have a contract to retain all rights, blah blah blah... how that works on a so-called public work of art, then seems totally at odds with the very concept...
BUT, that still obviates the idea of OTHER individuals taking their own pictures of public art, and how THAT becomes the property of the original artist...
i don't get it as a matter of law and/or equity...
is it just they are greedtards ? ? ?
    seems to be...

Re: Re: Improper raids aren't a bug, they're a feature....

    1. the state is illegitimate in its application of constitutional principles...
    2. warrants are bullshit rubber-stamped creations of convenience for police abuse, NOT high-bars to prevent abuses...
    3. neutral magistrates do not exist, or they would not be promoted to such positions of ultimate gatekeeping in a corrupt society...
    4. in short, the whole system is corrupted, broken, and serves as an instrument of oppression, not defending freedom...
is that elaborate enough for you ? ? ?

    pikers ! ! !
*real* police state slime persecute totally innocent people for krimes they didn't commit, with evidence that doesn't exist, in kourts that can not be spoken of, to be sentenced to sekret jails, and tortured until broken...

    semi-relatedly...

as told in the article, the nearly monthly merry-go-round of what channels they have anointed, and which have been relegated to purgatory, is annoying to say the least...

had a similar situation which i don't know is related, but -again- a constant source of 'anxiety' when using services where competitors can screw up the content, will-I, nill-I:
that is SWMBO and i had become accustomed to watching john oliver, graham norton, and some colbert on the youtube replay thingies...
TERRIFIC ! it is on OUR schedule, at OUR convenience, good stuff, thank you...
(guess what ? ALSO means we will watch a LOT more than the ZERO we would if we had to buy HBO, BBC, or stay up until midnight, or whatever...)
but, about 3-4 weeks ago, john oliver clips disappeared, and had some weird apology notice... not sure when, but within a couple weeks, they were back (just randomly noticed)...
THOSE KINDS of counter-productive machinations which have NOTHING to do with the customers, but are solely power-play, money-games by assholes in charge, are what makes the WHOLE SYSTEM STINK, and means we can't "DEPEND" on them...
fine, fuck you: go show all your john oliver clips/whatever to yourself in the closet; see how much money that will earn you greedtards...
dog damn, they make it EASY to despise the ENTIRE INDUSTRY...

let's all laugh at the kwazy diktator-lite...

...but maybe it should be a nervous laugh with sidelong glances, because i don't think we are that far behind...
    hasn't Emperor-to-be t-rump already shown how thin-skinned a short-fingered vulgarian can be ? ? ?
the velvet glove on the iron fist of Empire is starting to fray...
soon, it will be cold steel smacking us down, and then will we laugh at how 'silly' the Emperor is being in persecuting us ? ? ?
    oh, how we'll laugh...
