At Least Someone's Benefitting..

from the time-to-work-at-a-non-profit dept

Ryan writes “Not everyone is losing their shirts in dot-com bombs. Charity foundations have seen an increase in donations of office furniture, computers, and other supplies over the last few months. While some attribute part of it to the fact that many companies are upgrading machines, others have noticed a considerable increase from the San Francisco Bay Area and New York. In fact, at least one charity says that it can’t give a lot of the stuff away anymore because many of the non-profit groups have all the ergonomic furniture that they need. Let’s just hope these non-profit groups don’t start thinking they’re invincible now.” I can just see the VCs salivating now — that is, until someone explains to them that a non-profit doesn’t mean companies like Webvan and Amazon.
