    I was initially very annoyed that Lifehacker did this but switched over to the full feed and everything is as it was. I prefer full feeds (perhaps Google Reader could add a Read more button on feed) and find myself annoyed with Wired and their truncated teaser feeds. I've been thinking about unsubscribing because life is annoying enough. In fact, I think I will. I already get the magazine so I'm not going to miss anything anyway.

    When a computer is used at a school, that school has every right to know what the computer is being used for. But when the school spies on students at home on their own bandwidth then there really is no defense for doing it.
    And, as other commenters have asked, what about if the webcam happens to turn on while the kid is undressed? Doesn't that make the school administrator viewing the cam feed a pornographer? I can't even begin to fathom the rationality needed to allow such a stupid and invasive program to be put into use. It is really just shockingly stupid.

    Yeah, I've got a gas tank that can hold 36 billion gallons of gas and the gas station has tanks that hold 50 billion gallons so it makes total sense. I mean, he was gassing up for a trip to Pluto, right?

    The sad thing is that some companies will probably pony up to pay him. Not a bad scam, it is, at least, kind of funny. But its still a scam.

    Yes, how dare the people engage their right to report on events happening in public places. If you don't want to be called out when you act like a jackass then confine your jackassery to private clubs and residences.

    Politicans and celebrities seem to think they belong to a class of people that are above scrutiny. They are not and they should be reminded of it as often as possible.

    It is almost shocking to me how dumb politicians are and it seems like the majority don't really understand the fundamentals of the information age. Censorship no longer works and is like sending up a "Look at me" flare when they try to suppress unflattering information. They would do far better by trying to live more honorable lives than trying to scrub reality.

    Do these companies even think about the ramifications of their decrees? I know I'd probably not buy a product that I was unable to sell. What if I decide I just don't like it? I'm stuck. They are pursuing short term profits at the expense of the long tail and that's just bad business. But I agree, someone will hack it.

    Hellmuth is a tool and it fits that he's also involved in a scam. Underground poker is going to have these problems until it is made legal again and regulated. There's no way I'm playing poker online until I know the company I'm playing with is based in the US and subject to our laws.

    This is like stepping in a pile of poop and then going and jumping in a puddle of urine to wash it off. Apple should be smarter than this and I hope they pull their heads out of their backsides and get a handle on what their decrees are going to do in the long-term.

    I'm hoping that Apple pays attention to these discussions across the internet and realizes that they are playing a losing hand by being so cavalier with developers. You can't have a thriving community without all the parts involved and that means not pissing off developers by capricious censorship. I'm still pissed about NetShare being pulled. I love my iPhone but I am starting to get annoyed with Papa Apple telling me what I can do with it all the time. Apple, if you want to lock down my phone then give me a real compelling reason why this is in my best interests. Until then you just keep coming off like the wankers in Redmond.

    Officials "believe" an open Wifi signal was used but they have no way to know if their hunch is correct? Wow, that's, um, shockingly stupid of them. I get their intention but the implementation is overly draconian and utterly stupid.

    Apple should know better than to almost arbitrarily remove apps and disgruntle developers. As you write, it is long term stupid. I hope the App Store vetting process becomes a lot more transparent and a whole lot less capricious.

    I will never buy Nike again after learning about their manufacturing processes. I buy New Balance shoes, they fit me better and are mostly made in the USA. Apple is shooting themselves in the foot by limiting this cool tech to Nike. I would guess that much of the push is coming from Nike to protect their special arrangement with Apple. At least, I'd hope so.

    That's probably true. Maybe Steve Jobs has the same sentiment about Canada that Peter Griffin has (i.e. Canada sucks)?

    I wasn't aware that there's just one GSM provider in Canada and that one being Rogers. Kind of sucks but that makes sense that they can set monopoly style pricing.
