Hotspots Growing In Japan
For some reason, you don't hear much about the WiFi hotspot market in Japan -- perhaps because the focus in Japan for wireless seems to be much more at the phone level, where there's plenty of connectivity, applications and services. However, a new report says that hotspots are growing rapidly in Japan, with a total of 9,000 at the end of the year. 2,200 of these are run by NTT. What isn't said in the article at all is the business model for these hotspots and how well they're doing.
