Football Hooligans Go Nerd
from the net-fighting-man dept
Used to be the only weapons a good football hooligan needed were his fists, and maybe the occasional broken bottle or Stanley knife. Now, angry football fans are turning to the Net, like some supporters of one English club who were upset at its takeover by Tampa Bay Buccaneers owner Malcom Glazer and launched a denial of service attack on his UK lawyers, as well as other companies working with him. The attacks, labelled “an annoyance” by the firm’s IT guy, were easily stopped, and were arguably less successful than a Doc Marten to the head, as Glazer’s takeover was successful.
