Cameraphones Taking Over

A bit of a milestone announcement. While there were recent reports that nearly all mobile phones sold in Korea next year would include cameras, it appears the cameraphone has taken the world by storm. In the third quarter of this year, nearly two-thirds of all phones sold were cameraphones. In other words, for all those worried about the impact camera phones will have on society, it’s not a theoretical question any more. The phones are here, and they’re spreading fast. For those who are willing to embrace cameraphones, 2005 should be a very interesting and exciting year. For those who are still afraid, 2005 will be a very frustrating year. I’d rather be interested and excited.
