The Secret Service is part of the Department of the Treasury. That is why they handle counterfeiting investigations.
I have no clue why they handle other types.
I like that idea! Although, maybe a "clueless" button makes more sense.
Not only that, but Apple allows customers to install whatever they want on those machines since they are regularly re-imaged.
For example, a few years ago my wife was looking at buying a new MacBook and wanted to test some software before buying it. The Apple store employee said it was fine so we tried it out. There were no restrictions on the computer, so we could do whatever we wanted.
I doubt Apple has changed things since then. So, while I'm sure this guy didn't have approval, there was nothing to stop him from doing it either.
Add me to the list of Sony boycotters. After the rootkit incident, I have refused to buy any Sony products.
Overall, I think it was a good choice. I have been extremely happy with my Panasonic LCD TV and JVC and Panasonic camcorders. :)
I have to totally disagree with your statement. Just because this person has not done anything with the pac12.com domain name does not mean he should be forced to give it up to someone else, no matter what the price offered is. He purchased it legally, long before the Pac 10 became the Pac 12. By what logic should he be forced to involuntarily relinquish that domain name to another party?
Also, I am sure that if there were some sort of "Internet Eminent Domain" rules, they would be abused just as much as they are with physical property. I really do not think we need just another rule, law, or whatever that can be easily abused. We already have too many of those.
Sadly, I almost have to agree with that statement.....
You beat me to it. :)
I think we should start by killing the lawyers. Life would be much easier then.
I like the way you're thinking! I've refused to buy any Sony products after the whole rootkit thing, so I just might have to try that out.
GoDaddy also shutdown the security email list aggregator site SecLists.org a few years back. Full details can be found at http://seclists.org/nmap-hackers/2007/2.
Ever since that incident, I refuse to use GoDaddy for anything.
Another problem with these games is inconsistencies between platforms. Last year for Christmas we bought Lego Rock Band for the Wii, along with Band Hero so that we had the instruments.
Little did I realize that Lego Rock Band for the Wii does not offer DLC, even though it is available on the other platforms.
When I realized that, I was not very happy.
I somewhat agree but the latest GH does have one thing going for it - in the story mode the players get to play all of Rush's 2112.
For Rush fans like myself, that is awesome! Unfortunately, for the rest of the world, that is probably nothing special.
I have done technical work for school districts and my wife is a teacher so I have a pretty good idea of how school districts work. Sadly, I doubt this will serve as a deterrent for anyone.
I hope Old Spice doesn't start going legal on these parodies. Marvel even did one using the same actor: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6d3RqCUvK3g&feature=player_embedded#!
LIKE IT? Hell, we ENCOURAGE IT! And people wonder why the country is falling apart.....
You are exactly right. My understanding has always been that the founding fathers did not trust the general populace to always make the best decisions, thus the creation of a Republic, not a Democracy.
That would also explain why the members of Electoral College are not required to vote for the candidate their state voted for. Potentially, this could keep poor candidates from being put into office if the Electoral College chooses someone else.
What about convicted sex offenders who are required to register with the state? I know that here in Illinois, their name and address is listed online. If this passes, couldn't they require that this information be taken down as well?
Overall, this whole idea seems pretty scary to me......
And this is new? It seems like the majority of the comments have been that way for a while......
A little over a year ago, GoDaddy shutdown a popular site that archives security related mailing lists. Details on the shutdown can be found here.
The person who had this problem also started a web site for people to complain about GoDaddy - NoDaddy.com.
Definitely a company to avoid!
Re: Hire him!
Apple wouldn't want to do that. Then people would have a better idea of some of the weirdos that use Apple products. :)
