  I disagree. The more people use the API the more users use google maps. While they may not get anything directly from that, it leads people to use google maps more. I know whenever I want to look up directions I go to google maps because that's what I use on my phone all the time. If I was using open street maps on my phone then I would probably go to that anytime I wanted to look something up on my computer

  Yes, that's it, all of a sudden there was a surge of child porn sharing on encrypted traffic. Let's jump to that instead of the logical conclusion, piracy traffic drops, encrypted traffic jumps, hmm, those wouldn't have anything to do with each other, move along.

  You missed a key word there, suggesting. It's not guaranteed that's it's P2P, but when the known P2P traffic goes down, yet encrypted traffic goes up, it's not unreasonable to assume that a good bit of that traffic is P2P.

  Funny, cause last time I checked, the content owner was not selling their content on Mega, but were giving it away for free, yet still being paid for it, that's a big difference from a cut of a iTunes sale. And yes, you can download videos from youtube, but that is not legal, and is not built into youtube, and the content owner doesn't get paid when you download it from youtube. Again, where is all this data you have that you can so clearly and easily say that most traffic was pirating? Why is it that it wasn't just the users who liked mega, but actual content creators? I mean if they didn't innovate at all and were so bad, why would the creators care about it?

  Except you may be trying to do backups that more than one person needs access to. Or allowing artists to upload and share their own content, and get paid for it, allowing another form of distribution that does not require the content owner to have the bandwidth required to share their content, etc....

  That's funny, you clearly don't know what logic is. Mike is not threatening anyone. It is a clear and well known fact that when they remove alternatives piracy will increase. Anyone with even a little common sense can understand it. A large number of consumers stopped pirating because of these alternatives, you take them away and you think they are not going to go back to pirating things? And it's not play by my rules, it's play by your customers rules, or you lose them

  Lol, is this a serious comment? I do the vast majority of my shopping online. Yet I still see my neighbors plenty and hang out with friends all the time. You could even argue that shopping online allows me to do this more as I don't have to take out more than 5 minutes to do the shopping online as opposed to taking an hour or more to drive to the store (or multiple stores), find what I want, buy it, drive home

  Do some hotels not have radios in them? I've never once seen an ad for a hotel saying I should pick them cause they'll have a radio/alarm clock, I thought that was standard across the board and so it would in no way be a deciding factor in where someone stayed.

  Wait, people still used that virus riddled software? I'm pretty sure the number of people who used it before it was shutdown might be able to add up to 10 sales if they all bought something. Also, closing Limewire wouldn't do shit even if there were still a significant number of users because there are tons of other services out there that they would have switched to.
