If one were so inclined, they could buy the copyrights then release the works under a Creative Commons license. How does that sound?
They're still doing battle in the previous articles about Google.
Sadly, I don't think the steps would be much different if someone had simply 3D printed their own ipod.
I would settle for Google delisting all content made by those represented by RIAA and MPAA from its search engine.
Ah hell not this shit again.
And these trolls... seriously? Legacy labels aren't the only ones making music! Some of us listen to independent or Creative Commons tunes.
Are there people making statements like this who STILL work for MPAA or RIAA?
It would be nice if those claiming to be artists would stand by their words and provide links to their own works. Or a legitimate profile page.
LOL yeah, a lot of them are in the paranormal romance/erotica genre, though there are some sci-fi and fantasy thrown in. A shame, since some of what I read fits those categories, but I refuse to reward the blatant kneejerk lack of due diligence.
I would love it if a database like that existed (if something like it already does, I haven't found it yet).
I certainly appreciate the neon signs. Maybe they feel that research ends when the book is finished?
Just wanted to say, I'm getting the same kick out of these Funnyjunk articles that I do for the Righthaven ones.
Now why is entitlement ok for one (entertainment creator) and not the other (entertainment customer)?
I wonder if they'd cash it. Hmm, perhaps someone should try it.
Off-topic: no more posting via mobile anymore?
"and obviously sharing 24 songs MUST be quite more severe than killing someone unintentionally... since it has a $1.5 million fine."
Yeah, because I'm sure they feel physically violated everytime someone shares. Sickening.
It's always nice when someone indirectly tells me they don't want me as a potential customer/patron. Makes my pursuit of finding material to watch/view/listen to that much easier (but not easy enough).
Techdirt sees trolling as damage and routes around it.
"I haven't "lost" every job I've never been hired for."
Oooh but imagine if we were allowed to count those in the unemployment numbers.
Yes. If we're going to praise them for bringing in high profits, justifying their high pay, then they need to be held equally as accountable when it all goes stupendously poorly.
Can't wait for MAFIAA to have their turn.
Dumb
Now see, this is just going to prompt people to leave negative reviews all over the place. Way to go. *claps*
