    Regardless, why should EA or anyone shell out more support costs, hardware costs, etc. for a person who buys the game 6 years after it came out (that would be me btw)? Even if it is negligible, those are dollars that could be used elsewhere rather than on someone who gave no money back to EA.


    I don't care if those dollars can be used elsewhere, those dollars are supposed to be used to support a game I bought legally, whether or not i bought it used or new.

    So, are you saying that if I buy the game new on day 1, it should work for me 6 years later, but it shouldn't work for people who bought it used? Most of the value of the game is that people can sell it and recoup the some of the purchasing cost. By making people who buy the game secondhand pay something to the developer, the game's original cost should be lowered to compensate.

    Lets make a deal, if they're willing to list the full monthly price for these 200 HD 'channels' then they can call them channels.

    30 days * 57 on demand channels * 3.99 per movie * ~12 movies per day + 80 for the other channels.

    So it would cost $81954 a month for those 200 HD channels

    Radio only pays songwriters, since it is a free promotion for artists. Recording radio via cassettes is still copyright infringement, and is illegal, just like using your vcr to record tv shows.

    I'd be willing to put money on the fact that Lohan isn't the only alcoholic, boyfriend-stealing Lindsay out there.

    Its a money grab. Like you said, Lohan is pooooooooor. Shes spent up the little money she had, and is now trying to get set for life.

    Remember, there aren't a whole lot of small bands out there that are any good. I'm not saying that most small bands aren't good, just that if they are, they usually sell out to a record company, and then they become 'big bands'.

    On the other hand, there are plenty of big bands who aren't any good, and the record label messed up by signing them; these bands often stop being big bands, or just aren't very successful.

    I guess its time for some bands to admit to themselves that they aren't good enough to get rich and famous off their music. I'm all for music diversity, but some bands need to except that their music will never have a big following. Maybe they might even get a decent following, but people don't consider them good enough to go to their concerts or buy their swag.

    Small bands that are excellent, and that promote themselves via CwF + RtB type ideas will get known and will make money. This obviously won't work with small bands that are only good, just like the traditional model doesn't work with big bands that are only 'good', since every week we leave behind one hit wonders.

    Isn't it funny that they can only sense 850/900 MHZ 1800/1900 MHZ, 2400 MHZ, and 5800 MHZ? aka Cell phone bands and wifi bands? I mean, not a khz is wasted in the radio frequency allocation, and these people only only react to the frequencies we so irresponsibly selected for the most popular devices of the day?

    Oh please. B&D has no need to be generic about their sporting tickets they're giving away. I wouldn't bother entering their contest or anything if I didnt know what the tickets were.

    Haven't you heard of the First Sale Doctrine, and how that trumps all of this bullshit contract law? If B&D buys these tickets, they can do whatever they want to do with them. They need to be able to tell the people what the goods (in this case tickets) are. Its not trademark or copyright infringement or anything of the sort as long as B&D is not misrepresenting the tickets.

    If people couldn't advertise what they're selling or giving away, ebay and craigslist would have been shut down looooooong ago.

    And promotion is not some sort of right, as you seem to claim. The soccer league can't prevent newspapers from covering it, tv from insulting it, or techdirt from bashing it.
