Alternate Reality To Keep Fans Entertained During The Off-Season?
from the one-way-to-do-things dept
Alternative reality web-games based on things like movies or video games are nothing new. In fact, they're increasingly common since first really becoming a hit with the web-game loosely associated with the movie AI in 2001. However, the latest version takes a slightly different approach. Apparently, the TV show Lost, which I've never seen, but have heard is maddeningly confusing to its many fans, hid enough info into the final episode to get some fans hunting around online for more clues as to what's really happening in the show. What's most interesting, of course, is that the show is now off for the summer -- like many mainstream TV shows that don't offer new episodes during the summer. However, instead of leaving fans stranded, it sounds like the TV producers have put up this alternative reality game to keep them engaged in the show.
