Tribune Issues PriceKut Correction

from the oops dept

theodp writes “The Chicago Tribune issued a correction on its earlier report that Amazon.com will introduce the PriceKut social network for customers to discuss bargains, saying simply that the online retailer has no such plans. Since their Editorial Board ripped Drudge’s credibility the same day the story ran, perhaps the Trib should ‘fess up that they were duped by a fake press release.” Reminds me of when a Chinese newspaper ran a story from the Onion. Once again, fact checking is a thing of the past for many newspapers. It’s also worth noting that the Tribune has completely cut that part out of the article.
