Inventors Strut Their Stuff

from the mad-scientist-gathering dept

Honestly, I had no idea that there's an annual "Exhibition of Inventions" where today's mad scientists can strut their stuff. While, plenty of the inventions are reasonable and practical, in any crowd like there, you're likely to find a few on the funkier side - some useful, and some that just make you wonder. There's the device to remind men to put down the toilet seat, which could be combined with a device to make sure your toiletries don't spill on your suit jacket while travelling (I know this is a big concern for many). For those of you who have put on a few extra pounds, but don't want to buy any new clothes (of course you'll lose the weight soon...), you might want to check out the device that helps you put on such tight-fitting garments. It's actually a bit scary how many of the inventions on the list have to do with the toilet. Apparently too many inventors come up with their best ideas while perched on the porcelin throne.

The Daily Show's Stephen Colbert once did a story about the Exhibition of Inventions. There were some....interesting individuals. And of course, walking in on a comedic premise in the first place didn't help.
