Researcher On Both Sides Of Bug Battle

I saw the original WSJ version of this, but didn't want to post it here due to the subscription requirements. Now, however, News.com has a very good explanation of what happened with Phillip Adams getting hired by the company for a lawsuit he helped to bring. Adams spent quite a bit of time trying to bring attention to a bug, which eventually became a lawsuit against HP. However, HP went out and paid Adams $27 million, first for his solution, and then to be an "expert" witness against the very case he helped to bring. Now, HP is in trouble with the State of California for turning (ok, ok, bribing) a whistleblower.
