Will Your TV Become A Spy?
from the Business-Week-takes-a-stand dept
Somewhat surprised to see a magazine like Business Week take such a strong stand against the broadcast flag. They point out, accurately, that for all the talk about how much good a broadcast flag will be, in the end, it only protects the interests of Hollywood, while opening up the potential for massive consumer privacy invasions. I'm sure Hollywood would deny that the broadcast flag would ever be used for monitoring people's viewing habits, but the potential is clearly there, and eventually someone will make use of it.
