Making Databases Take The Hippocratic Oath

An IBM researcher talking to his brother, who is a doctor, realized that people feel comfortable telling personal things to their doctor because they trust the Hippocratic oath they've taken not to reveal such things. He figured if he could make a Hippocratic Database people would feel more comfortable giving out personal info that will be stored in computers. The idea is that when the data is first entered, the individual gets to determine how the data can be used. It also includes features for allowing the data to be erased from the database after a certain amount of time.
