Fortune has an interesting "behind-the-scenes" look at the history of internet backbone provider Level 3, whose valuation has dropped considerably (then again, whose hasn't?), but who still has a core group of believers - most of whom are based in Omaha. It seems that many people have simply put complete trust in Level 3's chairman, Walter Scott, who they seem to believe in despite the company losing over 95% of its value. The story also talks about Scott's friend, Warren Buffett, who they say won't admit to investing in Level 3 at the time they went to press. That has just changed.
