Business, Travel Searches Outpace Porn Lookups On Search Engine
from the difficult-to-interpret dept
I had a ton of reasons why this study was faulty, but I have to admit that the researchers themselves point out many of the faults with this study in the following article. The study looked at what people were searching on using Excite.com in 1997 and again more recently. What they found was that more people were searching for business or travel related keywords than porn. In '97 porn had been the winner. Of course, these results might not mean anything. There are a ton of new, different, and specialized search engines out there. Just because people aren't searching for porn on Excite.com doesn't mean they're not going elsewhere to get their porn needs fulfilled.
