Wireless Gets Boring
from the practical...-but-boring dept
It wasn't so long ago that the wireless space was flashy and exciting. Full of funky consumer devices that were going to change the world (though, Danger Research and Handspring, among others, still seem to think that's the case). However, in many circles when they talk about wireless, they're talking about wireless lands and using them to help improve various business processes. That's right, wireless has become boring. This is sort of an odd article, because wireless LANs and wireless gadgets seem like two different topics altogether. I don't think (despite what the article says) that people have given up altogether on wireless devices - they're just pulling back on all the hype about how they were going to be the next big thing.
