Looking Backwards To Predict The Market

from the past-performance-is-no-indication... dept

Yet another article comparing the tech downturn situation we're in to a similar period in the past. This one is about the PC boom in the 80s that eventually bubbled and popped as well. Near the end of the article are some good points about how the real catalyst for starting the new bubble has always been some sort of killer app (Lotus, Netscape), and there doesn't seem to be any new killer app out there yet. Of course, there's a part of me wondering why people are looking for the next "bubble" instead of looking for the next sound business... but that's the Wall Street mindset for you.
