Rare Medium Helps Motient Buy It

I saw the story of Motient buyng Rare Medium yesterday, and didn't think it was that interesting. However, the details of the deal make it a bit more worthy of posting. It seems that just a month ago Rare Medium loaned Motient $50 million. That money is now being used by Motient to acquire Rare Medium. So, Rare Medium loaned the money that's being used to buy itself. Seems like a very odd sort of leveraged buyout scheme.
