The Story Of Story Stocks
from the sell-the-story,-get-burned-by-the-story dept
Upside takes a look at the concept of story stocks. Stocks that are sold completely based on the "story" of the people pitching it, rather than actual fundamentals. As you'll recall, most of the IPOs in the last few years have been story stocks, but investors are no longer buying the stories. Does this mean story stocks are dead? Probably not. Sooner or later someone will come up with a new story, and that's all it will take. Now would be a good time to practice storytelling, perhaps.
