IUMA Lives On (In Baby Names)
from the the-promotion-ain't-going-anywhere dept
All day yesterday when I saw the news that the Internet Underground Music Archive (IUMA) would be shutting down I was looking for any news about the poor children who were named IUMA in accordance with the company's ridiculous publicity stunt. Well, the news is that the company did, indeed, find 10 idiots to name their kids IUMA. Wisely, however, each of the parents chose the $5,000 prize rather than "free music for life" which really would have been "free music for 5 months until we shut down". Poor kids. The names must remain until their 18th birthday. "So, that's an interesting name?" "Yeah, I was named after the dot com bubble."
