The latest virtual pet available out there is the Seaman for the Sega Dreamcast. It's basically a fish that you need to care and nurture. There's one advancement on past virtual pets: you need to talk to this one, and it will talk back to you. The review of the product though, points out that it will take over a part of your life that you'll wish you had back. There's a point in taking care of this virtual fish that you realize that you are taking care of a virtual fish.
