Sprint and Lucent are testing a third generation wireless 2.4MB/Sec system. A city-wide trial will apparently be rolled out in Kansas, in the first quarter of 2001. However, it may be a while before full 3G implementation occurs as most cell phone companies are only just beginning to realise profits from their previous cell phone infra-structure investments.
