Forgive me if I'm mistaken but I thought the point of copyright was to "promote the progress." Not have people's livelihoods depending on it. I could be wrong though. Isn't that in some important document somewhere?
Not much to copy. Unless you want some children's songs (anyone remember the children's singer Raffi)
Not the news I like hearing from my home country.
This isn't one school from what I can read. It's the damn county's public schools. In fact, it's my county. I mean, our public schools are good but 2.25 million good? Not sure about that one.
I only have one response

Equally horrible, what if the linked article changes to become defamatory after you post a link to it? There wouldn't be any way of really knowing if the source you linked to had changed from when you posted the link
My brother is currently deployed. I've sent over a copies of a bunch of my movies that he wanted to see but couldn't. I ripped 4 or 5 and put them on a DVD and sent them. If you want to sue me then sue me MPAA. For the record, if he was not deployed he would have just come over to my place and watched them. No lost sale for them, and it gives my brother entertainment. If you don't want us to do stuff like this, send over some movies for the troops MPAA.
"why is it "not helpful to policymakers" to use this number, when the number you throw out to policymakers all the time uses the same methodology?"
Remember, laws only need apply if it's in the company's best interest. Apparently they believe the same applies to methodologies.
I heard about this on the morning radio the other day. The guy actually called in to the show to talk about it. The law is against recording audio without the subject's consent. Apparently, this guy said the helmet cam is very obvious and anyone who steps into the shot would know they are being recorded.
"It will not limit what you can presently do with the PS3. It can limit what you can do in the future. "
You can't play online without the latest firmware buddy. I can currently play online. If I don't upgrade, I am limited on what I can do presently, not in the future.
Since I first heard about this, it seemed to me like an antitrust issue with the movie studio giving special treatment to one company over another? I'm no lawyer so I'm wondering if this is the case.
Funny, I was coming in to the comments to say something along those lines. Look at my name and you'd know why. In addition to the youtube ban, maybe they should stop their silly attempts to cover the Armenian Genocide.
Bill finally got approved to be sent to Congress for a vote and now our wonderful President Obama is going to do everything in his power to suppress it. I find this hilarious for the simple basis that Obama, Biden and Clinton all heavily criticized President Bush for not doing more to recognize the genocide.
As someone who tried the new recipe simply based on the commercial, I have to say I'm a big fan. Dominoe's new recipe is now my favorite delivery pizza (This only applies to delivery, nothing beats Ledo's Pizza).
"I hope that school deals harshly with any students that are found talking about the Super Bowl rather than paying attention in class."
Actually, the person at fault is the NFL in that case. Because the NFL created the super bowl and that is causing a disruption to class. Clearly the school should sue the NFL.
"Boxee gets the information from Hulu, and processes it to present it in a manner other than what is on the original page"
That pretty much sounds like the definition of an aggregator. Did you know that you can subscribe to hulu videos by RSS feed. Is google reader illegally accessing Hulu?
Hey, that's my district. Too bad I'm a registered Republican (Actually independent but I wanted to be able to vote in primaries).
The only thing that doesn't work because this is not a native app is a lack of push notifications (i.e. no indication that you've received a new text or voicemail). Then again there's always workarounds like forwarding these things to Gmail, which supports push notifications for email.
Quiet AC, Google just released the Google Voice web app yesterday.
Baltimore's former mayor was recently convicted of stealing gift cards meant for the poor.

The mayor before that was elected Governor of Maryland based on a platform of improving education when Baltimore city had one of the worst education systems in the country. As a native Marylander, I just have to applaud that city's ability to bring in the controversy.
Re: What about campfire songs?
Funny, I'm an Eagle Scout but I don't recall ever singing around the campfire (If we did, I would have quit because I could care less about that BS). I got a lot of value out my scouting experience but I strongly agree with a lot of the idiotic opinions made public by the organization.
I do find it appalling that the Boy Scouts of America as an organization would even take a stance on this issue. It has nothing to do with scouting or it's principals so they have no business making an opinion on it one way or another. It's very sad.
