Previously stated doubt on whether Congress has read The Constitution - much less understood that. Now, we've had Section 230 for quite awhile and Congress seems to blindly accept the kooks accusations without ever reading the plain text of the law. They won't read this one either. It doesn't conform to their preexisting biases.
All visitors to all American websites. Fascinating. Hats off to the never saw a technical idea that couldn't be used in a more inappropriate application: The Blockchain - which has been described as a very slow database. Rather accurately, one might add. Is this actually a push by Oracle, and HDD/SSD vendors? Cause they will be making big sales on this.
Modern AI is simply deep learning ML, a style if you will of building a more complex ML solution. LLM was difficult prior because it required processing vast quantities of data. Now, modern solutions are possible. But, they are intended to be used in conversation. They search for relevant tokens, and push out a reply. Additional prompts are seen within the previous replies. All to produce a good feeling/sounding conversation. Much like a gracious fool the conversation seems fine, but a person knowledgeable in a specific field will spot the errors. The problem raises its head when the innocent are entranced by the sound of the reply, even the wrong ones.
Well, that is pretty damn clear. Of course, what else is clear is Elon has yet to learn anything about running a business that doesn't have a legion of people doing the actual running. He fired everybody, not because he was fully capable to run the platform, but because he had been forced to buy Twitter. Thus he hated every existing employee, and he's a vindictive 6yo that had his ball - uh, forced to play with. Of course, now the lying dog claims that Twitter will morph into his masturbatory everything app X. Which he dreamed up forever ago (before iPhones), and that he still has zero chance of anyone beyond sycophants ponying up for. Maybe he could get an Econ degree, thesis: How to lose billions to make millions from sycophants in three easy lessons. Or one.
Watch SNL monologue. He doesn't consider himself human. We are humans, and he only pretends to be one. He will never understand us. As to Musk himself, Mike's quote re the brat and the vindictive kid pretty much nailed it. Professionally, he is an Econ major. That's it. Nothing else he's claimed is true. The common term for such is spreadsheet jockey. He plays with numbers, and stocks (which is how he leveraged himself into Tesla). One might say after the Twitter fiasco that he has failed at being an Econ major; He clearly didn't pass a class on M&A.
To prevent cyber crime one needs to define it. The treaty is about enabling cyber crime, but only if the criminal is a government. The next treaty will be for the citizens. Sadly, most will be oppressed by this treaty before the UN convenes a committee on it.
to lie. And, apparently not pay his bills. Paying lawyers, not gonna happen. He has some friends/employees that are lawyers though. Do they get paid in ponies, horses, or horse apples?
The why are politicos so stupid about Sect. 230 podcast was pretty good. It feeds into this conversation. 1st Amend will win, and Sect 230 will save operators money and time. As to TikTok and data mining, the phones themselves do it. All it takes is a few dedicated SW engineers and that info is free for the taking. So any app that is loaded can siphon the data, send it to a data broker that will sell it to anyone with a couple of nickels and the big deal concern is duplicated without even needing TikTok. A new company in countries[rng] and some shovel ware with pretty graphics and sell it for next to nothing, or nothing and what about TikTok - nobody will remember them in 2y. Except MAGAt politicos and FOX. Congress shall pass no law ... even if we need a US Privacy Law. To protect and to fine data security failures. But what about the children? Well, Senator Warren, they would be better off with TikTok and a privacy law with teeth. As smart as that woman is, I am baffled by her inability to get the point of Section 230.
to lie. That is the only thing that is guaranteed from Elmo, the Muck Up.
Capturing children's ID is fraught with issues. Not the least of just having it will temp many to acquire it. Acquiring their parent's ID and CC will make the temptation impossible to ignore. Identity theft on a medium level scale just with Techdirt data alone. Now, extrapolate that to a website for Home Depot, or Disney. The odds on all of the attack vectors being secured are zero. If you don't understand the problem, maybe take the time to read through Masnick's actual document. You clearly do not get it. So, move on. Let the grown ups talk.
I set Elmo Muck Up to mute within the first month. Also, I only access For You on occasion, so my inputs are reduced. Data: see 70 new Tweets, shows < 10. Sometimes only a couple. So muting Elmo is a good tactic.
I always worked in C, and assembler. So, I never got any good feelings about AI generated anythings. My primary complaint is you cannot prove the AI got it right. Only that it "appears" right enough. The linked article was enlightening. Basic dumb mistakes and fed to the people that would be most hurt by them. Add in the copyright, IP, and privacy concerns - why is this even a thing? I mean, the CNET issues are cute/funny. As in, "how could it get it this wrong" funny. But using the AI to replace entry level journalists only to not get the savings because of increased editing. Sucks for entry journalists but could be a boon for entry to mid level editors. Is that a good thing, or not?
but the Feds classified it before I hit return
Elmo, the Econ major spreadsheet jockey keeps making the startup mistake with his Excel. Just because you added a column, doesn't mean that it will happen. It definitely won't happen at the rate that will save the biz. He still doesn't understand the creators are what drives interaction, not his genius plan to always pump people's feed with polar opposite views for "Engagement". Even MAGAts are complaining about getting all libs in their feed.
Thanks
Him being a complete jackass and ignoring common business practices, like not signing a deal until after due diligence was finished. Since he's on a margin call for $13B-ish where does he have to sell more Tesla stock to keep it above water?
Elmo appears to remember what bankruptcy is, even though he clearly didn't attend a single class on mergers and acquisitions. That's my bet, he wants to bankrupt Twitter, although how that court would ignore his remaining Tesla stock is a mystery.
It is Musk. When does he tell the truth? Next he will announce self driving satellites that will turn sideways to Science can continue! Just $5K upfront and in two weeks - you will be told it will when it is ready. Another ride on the roller coaster that is Elmo's train of lies.
One suspects that providing the 50/50 split of guilty, not guilty itself wasn't done properly. They were pre-identified, leading to yet more confirmation bias. A term he has never bothered to understand. It would be interesting to test his theory against coin flips. Either a single flip or perhaps one for each of his miracle phrases. The man himself "needs help"
Let us be clear, Elon hates people
He hates humanity. He does allow for some individuals to exist. As long as they produce children for him. So his (suspect) DNA will be seeding future mankind. Not humanity. He truly believes Earth is toast, and wants to leave it behind, start a new civilization on Mars then laugh as we die. Such a guy. I opine that his DNA is suspect, watch his SNL monologue, it explains my position. It also explains his tendencies. Read the descriptions, difficult to change his mind, believes he is the smartest person in the room. In his case; Every room everywhere. Hating to rethink a position, while he claims to do that at SpaceX he is not actually in charge and is not capable of being in charge. He's an Econ major. That's it. He's a spreadsheet jockey with a line of bull and a list of willing suckers. All his other claims come without documentation. His buyer's remorse re Twitter was because of a phone call with one of his supporters; re Twitter revenues tanking the closer it got to Elon rule. He cares about one human. Himself. That's it. Everyone else is a tool, a resource, a sucker, or who knows what else he uses to write off people. But, the man has a list, and he adds to it everyday.
