  • Google Fights In EU Court Against Ability Of One Country To Censor The Global Internet

    andypandy ( profile ), 14 Sep, 2018 @ 01:06am

    Worrysome

Ok so i have family members that were killed in the concentration camps, no not a jewish person. I feel that the internet bringing this up all the time really hurts my feelings and i want the holocaust to be forgotten from the day i make my application to the courts. It is hurtful to see and read and hear about the skeletons, one that could be my family member being put on display so the museums must be shut and razed to the ground and those peoples skeletons put to rest in graves.

With the right to forget i want to forget the holocaust.

  • MPAA Pretends 'Offering Something' Is The Same Thing As 'Offering What People Want'

    Re:

They do not want to compete with free, even though they could still make a lot of money from providing there content for free. I think it is a power thing, they are really only glorified salesmen, they want to be called executive directors etc, that's why they have credits after a movie, to show off there credentials.

They know how to compete with pirates they just do not want to.

  • NZ Judge In Dotcom Extradition Case Speaks Out Against TPP & US Copyright Extremism

    MEGA

Megaupload is returning soon acording to Dotcom tweets, i wonder how he will do it, maybe generate a number for every file uploaded and you have to use that number to advertise the file, then mega and anyone else would not know what was in a file unless someone told them, i.e download the file 85763.rar to get the movie man on the moon...link to megaupload, lol the industry would have to monitor every site on the internet to identify the files to get them taken down, but even then they would have to prove the file was copyright material and they would have to download it and view it to check, yeah megaupload could force them to employ millions of people , fix the lack of jobs immediately.

    Re: Re: Re:

They are scared that people will realize that copyright law was created to protect artists from the studios, they are scared that people will start standing up and calling the lawyers out for suing people that are sharing content, which is allowed. They are scared that eventually people will realize it is them stealing from the content creators not the customers. When we all start pushing forward the perfectly legitimate reasoning that copyright laws were not made to protect the artists from there customers, they were made to protect the artists from big business,

Once people start realizing this more and more and bringing it up in every conversation in every court case we will win and the artists will win and the gatekeepers and studios will be forced to stop there creative bookkeeping and stop stealing from the artist. That is a crime, sharing content is not a crime, and we need this to become the talking point we need this to be the starting point of new copyright laws that protect everyone except the big businesses that are doing everything in there power to muddy the water , to make it look complicated, when in fact it is not complicated.

  • Lamar Smith Looking To Sneak Through SOPA In Bits & Pieces, Starting With Expanding Hollywood's Global Police Force

    andypandy ( profile ), 09 Jul, 2012 @ 04:21pm

    Seriously...

This just shows how much we are all hurting them that they cannot accept that they have lost and are openly calling for a force to put pressure on countries to expand copyright this is not only a bad move but a move that could backfire on them so much that they are actually in a position much worse than they are in now. Governments do not like being forced to do anyone's bidding, yes they accept bribes/donations but that is under there conditions, to think that the Industry can just force governments to just roll over and allow one minor part of the entertainment industry to randomly sue there citizens is just not going to happen, if anything the blowback from the public could force governments in Europe and the rest of the world to demand that copyright is being used for terrorist activities and cancel all copyright laws until the public is involved in implementing something that works. If not i suspect those bowing down to the industry thieves will find themselves hounded out of power in most countries via boycotts and other nefarious activity.

  • A Broken System: Einstein Wouldn't Have Been 'Qualified' To Teach High School Physics

    andypandy ( profile ), 20 Jun, 2012 @ 03:11am

    Teachers

I actually think this is a bit cheap of the author to use this forum to rant about his wife not being able to teach. A teacher is more than someone who knows the subject matter, a teacher is someone who can teach children and if you need a license to do that i see no problem, i see a problem with everyone who has the qualification just expecting to bypass the paths to become a teacher in there chosen field. Einstein was many years ago and would probably have got these qualifications to teach and not thought twice about it.

  • Slovak Collecting Society Sends Village Invoice For Singing Folk Song About Itself

    andypandy ( profile ), 18 Jun, 2012 @ 03:54am

    Really , lets forward this

Seriously this is getting way out of hand , I think we all need to collect all of these articles showing how draconian the collection society is and how the copyright laws need to be limited much much more. Send copy of the links to these articles all of these ridiculous claims for money to all your Mp's and to everyone in a position of power and ask them to bring it up whenever the copyright laws are about to be changed.
This is the most ridiculous story , well other than the one where a person stocking shelves was humming and they wanted to sue her, or when children have to pay to be allowed to sing happy birthday at parties.
Damn there are so many other crazy stories it is unbelievable. Maybe we need the MP's to understand this is not a rumour or a joke but is actually happening, maybe they thing people are just trying to pull there leg, as i think this is what i would think regarding these stories

  • FBI Stops Yet Another (Yes Another) Of Its Own Terrorist Plots; This Time: Anarchists!

    andypandy ( profile ), 02 May, 2012 @ 08:42am

    Re: what a shame

one of the many problems with this is that many people will not discuss there plans with anyone else and go it alone, thereby causing the FBI to have no way of tracking the real terrorists, as they did when there were real terrorist threats.
One other major problem is that those people enticed into these plots will leave jail eventually much better informed on how to actually make a successful attack and feel more justified in doing so.
There are many ways that these FBI planned attacks could cause more damage to the country, encouraging terrorists to be extra careful when planning and implementing attacks is just one of them.

  • Law Professor: Megaupload Prosecution A 'Depressing Display Of Abuse Of Government Authority'

    andypandy ( profile ), 02 May, 2012 @ 04:04am

    Extreme justice

This is a case of a business interest in America destroying competition from the rest of the world , and nobody should look further than that, it is not about copyright infringement or fraud , other then the fraud of using the American Government to close down the real competition that is growing in the world.

The sooner Hollywood goes bankrupt the better, more and more people who would have bought DVD's and gone to the cinema are rather sharing entertainment with there friends in a form of boycott of the American entertainment industry. It will bring them to there knees eventually , just needs to be promoted more and all it really needs is one case of them suing an old lady or a 7 year old to generate the anger that saw SOPA brought to it's knees. And remember many many people did not think anything would prevent SOPA from passing, it was a major wakeup call to the Government , that so many people felt so strongly about not passing laws just to protect one crappy business model, that they were prepared to suffer a day blackout to prove there anger. It worked once now all it needs is that spark to totally destroy the American involvement in entertainment worldwide.

  • A Perspective On The Complexities Of Copyright And Creativity From A Victim Of Infringement

    andypandy ( profile ), 21 Apr, 2012 @ 10:13am

    Difficult decisions

I am sure it feels bad for your creativity to be used by someone else , even if it is not exactly the same. That is what life is about , someone takes something and changes it so that it sounds better, or in movies makes a new digital version that give more to the customer buying it. Yes it is hard but in all honesty life is full of things that people feel are unfair, would i have been upset if i was you, almost surely , would i have sued , most definitely, but my advise as someone who is not emotionally involved would be to look at the copying of your work as a compliment , yes ask for recognition and maybe a small fee and see how it goes , but don't count on getting anything at all. I can see you would probably have let them use everything they did if they had only recognized you as the initial creator of the song, but in all honesty they created a new song, and that song for whatever reason was more successful, Learn from this and don't let it stop you from creating, even use some of there ideas and lyrics if you want, look at there library of albums take what you think you can use from it and do it. You can gain more in the way of talent by experimenting with there lyrics and there music and improving on it in your style. Would that not be better payback than suing then...would i still sue them if it was me in your position, you bet i would.

  • Another Error By US Officials May Kill Megaupload Prosecution

    andypandy ( profile ), 20 Apr, 2012 @ 03:08pm

    love it

I can't get rid of this massive smile on my face now , what a wonderful end to the week, and the beginning of a wonderful weekend.

Just wondering if the US government will still support the RIAA and cohorts if they have to pay a few billion in loses to mega. Damn good news this. Well not for the American taxpayer , but for the rest of us , very very good news.
And if anything this should encourage cloud services to move out of America and into safe havens where they might also make a few billion if the RIAA comes after them.

  • HBO Decides It Still Isn't Difficult Enough To Watch HBO Shows

    andypandy ( profile ), 19 Apr, 2012 @ 09:04am

    Idiots all of them

Again another day and another loss for the idiots who decide who is going to and who is not going to watch there shows. Whether they pay for it or not. Just another chip out of there profits with people canceling there subscriptions.I this carries on much longer they are not going to have enough customers to stay in business, or is there plan to go to the government in a years time and say look we have no customers they are all pirating. It will all end up being blamed on the pirates but do we care hell no we don't. They are incapable of actually thinking like businessmen, do you think it is maybe because of them taking drugs or catching something from all the whores they pay because nobody else wants to see there big fat asses.

  • Chinese Copyright Proposal Would Allow Compulsory Licensing Of Music After Three Months

    andypandy ( profile ), 18 Apr, 2012 @ 01:14pm

    Chinese music

This has to be the best news i have read all year, maybe more countries should be talking about the copyright period in months rather than years. This would benefit all artists as there would be no single entity controlling the sale of music /movies.

From reading this article , and i may be wrong, there would still be copyright but that "copyright" would be available at a reasonable price to anyone who was willing to pay for it.
So now if i want to start up a music site i can pay a small amount , or a large one, for the rights to distribute all the music from artists in a specific genre. create my site and pay a fair amount from what money i generate to the creators of the music i have bought the right to distribute.

I don't think the American gatekeepers that feel they have control of who listens to there music and how they listen or where they buy from or how much they pay, will be happy about this but hey they have brought it on themselves by being so elitist and losing the support of there customers due to there high and mighty position, almost every day now we hear of something that is chipping away at there power and i am loving it. let those arrogant ignorant fools fall , i am enjoying every minute of it.

  • Copyright Maximalists Try To Regroup And Figure Out How To 'Fight Back' Against The Public

    andypandy ( profile ), 17 Apr, 2012 @ 09:26am

    Elietists

I am a normal person and i disagree with SOPA and supported the protests that eventually caused it to crash and burn. If some idiot in a suit thinks he can just disregard the call for him and his friends to STFU then he will learn the hard way when he realizes the power he had has been " shared" with everyone else in the world, every time i share something with a friend now i will think of how i am personally responsible for taking money from his personal bank account, well he thinks i am, and that is good enough for me to do it over and over and over again.

  • Woman Sues Over Misleading Movie Trailer; Wants To Make It A Class Action

    andypandy ( profile ), 11 Oct, 2011 @ 01:03pm

    Abduction

Just went to the theater to see Abduction. In the trailer they make it look like the lead character is being shot at while sliding down some angled window panes. This did not happen in the movie. Is that a failure to advertise the movie correctly? I remember renting a video and on the cover you had a girl running away from a helicopter, there was no helicopter in the movie. Where does this become illegal as it has been happening for years. Yes i now check out a movie before going to the cinema to pay to watch it. :D

  • Nintendo Thrilled To Have Game Copy Devices Found Illegal In France

    andypandy ( profile ), 07 Oct, 2011 @ 03:54am

    Re: Re:

This is the one time i sort of support the industry.
Yes the r4 cards are very useful for the development industry, but for the general public it would only be used for downloading and playing games they do not want to buy.
There is no excuse like making backups etc as the cards much more durable than a cd/dvd/blu-ray disk.
But then i look at the price of games and i can understand why people would use an r4 card. You can easily fit a few thousand dollars worth of games on one card for nothing, so what is the incentive to buy.

  • Legally Bought Some Books Abroad? Sell Them In The US And You Could Owe $150k Per Book For Infringement

    andypandy ( profile ), 19 Aug, 2011 @ 02:59am

    Re: Re: Book Copyright

The law is the law. You could go to any number of sites on the internet and download a picture or hear music illegally just by browsing that sites, the British law protects you. If you go to a torrent site the same is true. Even if you have a suspicion that a file is illegal you are still protected as the law covers all downloads. And the movie and music studios have been caught uploading material that would look illegal ,but because the copyright holder has uploaded it it is legal. If i wanted to really find out if a movie was legal who would i contact , there are so many copyright agencies, and who is to say that the person i speak to knows that someone higher up has released the movie to a torrent site.Impossible to know either way.

    Book Copyright

I am going to download a torrent of books worth ?3.000.000 and put it on a hard drive. I will then be a multimillionaire. In England it is not illegal to download just upload , so i will legally own the books for my own use if i do not get caught uploading. Easiest way to become a millionaire , now just to work out how i can pay less taxes now i am mega rich.
