The point of the article is about scope creep. Surveillance orginally intended for TFL is now distributed to police and other agencies. That wasn't the original aim; so to do so is wrong. Or maybe it was the original aim and they just lied to the public (for their own protection of course)
Sadly true. One wonders what the legislation defining 'troll' will look like. It's about as daft as saying something is "on-the internet". Strictly speaking, the interweb has nothing 'on it' for very long ... it's just a conduit
You could always really frustrate the feds by not having an idiotPhone in the first place. Between the backdoors, the DRM, the camera, the microphone and the GPS you couldn't possibly be expecting privacy anyway.
You mean you want to drive your OWN car? You don't want Google, Intel or the government firmware navigating you? Why? What have you got to hide?? Where are your going that manual control is necessary??? You are clearly a terrorist!!! :-/
If abuse of NSA systems is not possible they are the only branch of government to achieve uptopia.
Thousands of Medicare, tax, social security and transport records are trawlled by government employees for 'less than professional' reasons every year. (eg: checking up on your ex-wife's new partner)
